Hello Nudies,
Hope you all had a great weekend! I sure did—Germany, Düsseldorf was amazing! We left midday on Friday, and the drive took a lot longer than expected—six hours instead of four. But once we arrived, we found ourselves in a lovely apartment (sorry, no photos—I completely forgot!). We grabbed some pizza from a nearby spot, which was delicious, and relaxed with a movie.
The next day, we explored the city, and wow, it was freezing—around minus 3 degrees! We picked up some groceries from a supermarket, and honestly, Germany is so much cheaper than the Netherlands. After eating and wandering a bit, we decided to warm up in a nostalgic old toy store. I couldn’t resist buying a cuddly Dragonite and Jolteon since I’m such a Pokémon fan, haha! I also got a cool House of the Dragon mug and a Game of Thrones T-shirt because, well, I love that too!
We spent ages in the toy store—it had so many things we don’t see anymore—and then went looking for food. The city was buzzing with people in funny costumes because it was Carnival! We didn’t know it was happening, but the festive atmosphere was hilarious. Eventually, we found a cozy restaurant with outdoor heaters, where we enjoyed some beer and an amazing entrecôte. After that, we headed back to the apartment to get ready for the Elden Ring concert.
The venue was massive and packed. They had lots of food and merchandise, though the merch was a bit underwhelming—mostly just text on shirts for 30 euros. I did pick up a nice grocery bag, though! When we found our seats, we were a little disappointed since we thought they’d be on a balcony, but our view and sound were still great. Once the concert began, I got goosebumps—it was magical! It was supposed to last two hours, but with the crowd clapping between pieces (which you’re not supposed to do at these concerts!), it ran 45 minutes longer. Despite that, they did an encore, which was amazing. I wouldn’t have missed it for the world!
The next day, it was time to head home. We planned to do some grocery shopping since it’s so much cheaper in Germany, but we completely forgot that everything’s closed on Sundays due to Christian traditions. Oh well, just another excuse to visit again soon! We got home around 3 PM, absolutely exhausted but so happy after an unforgettable weekend.
