What is going on?
Added 2018-10-17 11:26:41 +0000 UTCFirst off, Fenrir won the next character sheet poll. Next month, you'll be getting some backstory on him, along with his stats, a few items and a drawing of the buff wolf! A good choice, if I do say so myself. Although personally, I would have went with Cassidy, because I'm biased towards her.
Anyway, what about the update? It's still in progress. It'll be done before Sunday at the very latest. If I'm not done by Sunday, I'll ship what I have, and move on. To be perfectly honest, this is not going to be a very good update. Neither in quality, nor in volume. There are several reasons for this, which I will detail in the rest of this post.
The characters sheets. Hammering out the details for them was slightly more time consuming than I would have liked. Plus they occupied my mind for quite a few days. Ontop of that, I had to spend half a day making the page to display them on, and another half a day to write Seki's background. Luckily, they're all set now, and the next one will be far easier to make for both Sneaky and me.
Real life stuff. I had to go vote (mandatory) in the elections which took an entire morning, I haven't been eating well lately due to most of my usual takeout places being closed for whatever reason, and later today I need to go get a flu shot. Seemingly small things, but they add up over time to throw me off of writing for far longer than you would imagine.
The weather. The temperature, where I live, is a fucking rollercoaster this month. If there is one thing I can not handle when it comes to the weather, it is flip-flopping between cold, then hot, then cold again all in the same week. It makes me physically ill. It was freezing, last week. Then, on Monday, it was suddenly twenty-five degrees centigrade. And today, it's ten degrees cooler once more, and I am left with a pounding headache.
Paypal issues. Due to some European law or whatever, I have to give Paypal proof of identity and proof of residence. Identity was as easy as scanning my ID, but proof of residence is proving to be quite a bit harder than what I'd have figured. My first attempt was declined, and I had to jump through some hoops to get some official documents which I hope will fare a bit better. They better, because without Paypal, I can't get money from Patreon, which means I have no income, which means I get to starve next month.
The content itself. You know how the last update to Ruby was basically twelve iterations of the same thing? Yeah, this is another twelve iterations, bringing the total up to twenty-four. It's tiring to write the same thing over and over again, with differences major enough to justify separate paths, but too minor to keep me personally interested. I'm probably going to start cutting corners to rush this next update out if things keep up like this.
Anyway, there's a bunch of other minor stuff that has interfered with my work on Kobold Adventure this month, but I won't trouble you with all of my worries. All of these things have combined to slow my progress down to a bloody crawl. Am I making excuses? Probably. But I just want to work on my project in peace, without being bothered by things every single day. Worked pretty great so far, but in October, apparently not so.
I can not overstate how sorry I am that things turned out this way, but I hope you can understand that it wasn't all my fault. After this update is finished (Sunday at the latest), I hope things will pick up again, in both quality as well as in quantity. The next poll will contain some fun routes that I am personally interested in writing, and some good shit is going to come out of it. That, my friends, fans and fellow kobold enthousiasts, is a promise from me to you.
Thank you all for your continued interest in Kobold Adventure. My sincere apologies about the Ruby, Mean update (which will not be very great). I hope some of you will still like it and appreciate the effort that has gone into it, and if not, then I'm fully to blame. See you all later this week, for more things that make me cry instead of the kobold.
Edit: I just received an email that the Paypal stuff is resolved. Hurray!

2018-10-17 18:26:54 +0000 UTCNo worries about late updates. I'm used to severely late updates because of a certain web comic featuring a yellow slutcat. I'm sure it's just fine.

2018-10-17 16:22:02 +0000 UTCThere's no need to apologize, if shite beyond yer control happens then it happens. Not only that but you're still persistent about making the best shit yer can yet still want to do better, quite commendable. Don't stress yerself and for fucks sake get some proper food when yer can.
2018-10-17 15:16:53 +0000 UTCYou did a great job at writing the original! Kudos!

2018-10-17 15:12:09 +0000 UTCMy own experience with writing this material to begin with was curiously the opposite - I could copypaste great swaths of text so that it all came out really fast and with no trouble, and I didn't think it was all that bad at the time either. I admire your decication for setting up higher standards than I did and actually striving to make them more different than that - and as such I have absolutely no doubt that however poor you think the work is, it's in reality going to eclipse the original by far and we'll all have a lot of fun with it. Can't wait to bully the dragon, but take your time!
2018-10-17 14:41:43 +0000 UTCMandatory voting? Proof of Residence being difficult to prove?! Cassidy lost?!! Where the hell do you live? East Berlin? Call it Typical-White-American-Tendencies Syndrome, but those are the damnedest things I've ever heard of. Here, pointing in the general direction of your house counts as proof of residence, and people vote just to spite the mother******s on the other side of the bench. To each nation there own, I guess.
