Kit Fisto's Collapsing Lightsaber

This is a multi-part design where the hilt is split into different stl's so it can be printed in full color without supports with a single color printer. The cap screws on so the blades can be printed separately in different colors and inserted or replaced.

Supports are not required, for best results use a .4mm nozzle. You can print the blades all at once concentrically or one at a time in vase mode. I suggest printing in vase mode but if printing concentrically, the test print can be found here. Find detailed instructions on how to print collapsing swords on my website.

It prints upside down so the fins by the emitter will print without supports. Make sure you add a large brim or helper discs because there is not a lot of contact with the bed.

There are two versions of the hilt and cap. One version is split apart for a multi-color printer the other is one piece for single color or manual color swaps.

Assuming you are letting the bed cool down. Maybe you could try more bottom layers. You could also try printing it flipped over with the tip pointing up. The tip would have to bridge but I've tried this and its worked before.

Any tips on printing the blade tip and not having the flat end rip off when trying to remove the brim?

Nope, it wasn't just you. Its fixed now, redownload it.

Is it just me, or is the hilt-solid file a considerably lower-poly file, compared to the hilt-silver file? (look at the two side by side)
