What's coming up in the second half of 2023? Also Cannock Chase Release!

I am thrilled to unveil the initial version of the 'Remake' of Cannock Chase for you today. As expected, this endeavour morphed into a far more comprehensive project than initially intended. A simple touch-up evolved into a significant overhaul. Although we are yet to hit the 100% completion mark, this initial offering promises a sneak peek into how things are progressing

AI kind of works on the Long layout, but for now it's probabluy best sticking to time trials, solo drifting, that sort of thing. AI + Replay cams for all other layouts (Medium A, B, C and Short) will be in the next release.

My local area, Merseyside (UK), served as a source of inspiration for visual elements, I went out and took images to use for the tree background’s. I have also worked to ensure that the rest of the tree textures blend nicely into the scene through extensive colour correction work.

Those acquainted with the original version will find the core layout largely retained. Nevertheless, I have injected a modern flair, specifically into T1 and T2, now boasting a complete asphalt runoff and a grandstand bustling with spectators opposite the pitlane. An addition to the layout is the serene lake which leads into a sweeping right-hand turn, setting the stage for the steep uphill race from the original track.

There is a characteristically bumpy back straight that traverses a bridge, undoubtedly influenced by my experience with the Ozarks International Raceway rollercoaster section.

This version of the track is still Work in Progress, as it is not a commission, I have had to fit it in and around other projects… speaking of unfinished projects… and the triumphant reception of Silver City 66, I'm excited to run another poll featuring three more track concepts. The winner will evolve into a fully fleshed-out circuit. Given the constructive feedback from the last time, I eagerly anticipate introducing this new poll before the month concludes.

As we shift focus to upcoming work, anticipate a playable version of 'The Ridge Motorsports Park' launching in July! This fan-favourite has been frequently requested, and I'm glad to announce it's now fully funded and in progress.

For a peek into the more distant future, the German Autobahn / Airport track is still brewing. I am thrilled to transition it into a full-on semi-permanent race venue. 

Subsequently, in August, we are bringing a popular karting venue from the Greater Los Angeles area to all subscribers here. Any guesses about which track it might be?

In September, I plan to wrap up the winning track from the aforementioned poll. Given there is nothing yet confirmed for that month, I see it as an opportunity to advance my personal passion projects. A case in point is the Historic Autodromo di Modena from the 1960s. So, in the next four months, brace yourself for an exciting mix of modern, historic, and fictional circuits. It is indeed a stellar lineup that I am immensely proud of! And I look forward to sharing it all with you.
