Hi Everyone,
Today there’s some massive changes, and additions to Thunderhill!
Firstly, there’s now 24 different layouts, all with functional timing and AI.
The layouts are:
Five Mile, Five Mile Reverse, Five Mile Hill Bypass, Five Mile Hill Bypass Reverse, Five Mile Double Bypass, Five Mile Double Bypass Reverse, Five Mile West Bypass, Five Mile West Bypass Reverse, Middle Hill Combined, Middle Hill Combined Reverse, Middle Hill Combined Bypass, Middle Hill Combined Bypass Reverse, Three Mile, Three Mile Reverse, Three Mile Bypass, Three Mile Bypass Reverse, Two Mile East, Two Mile East Reverse, Two Mile East Bypass, Two Mile East Bypass Reverse, Two Mile West, Two Mile West Reverse, Two Mile West Bypass, Two Mile West Bypass Reverse
If there’s any I missed I’ve made it easier for me to add and edit layouts now, so they’ll be in the next update if they’re mentioned.
Along with this the following layouts now also have full replay cameras.
Five Mile, Five Mile Reverse, Five Mile Hill Bypass, Five Mile Hill Bypass Reverse, Three Mile, Three Mile Reverse.
The file size has been super optimised, so despite the additional layouts, the download size is now ~170MB as apposed to over 1GB as it was before.
I've used some new techniques that have been applied to my more recent tracks, and used them on Thunderhill, to improve the look of things like the terrain, and road surfaces.
Optimised textures, leading to better performance
Tweaked lights to only come on at night, giving better performance in the day, as well as increased realism.
All track layouts now work with 40 AI cars.
Finally, you can see in the images, I have started working on the two skidpads. They're not yet available as layouts, but I aim to have them in the next update, alongside the completed replay cameras, and any other layouts people may need.
One important note, After doing a billion hours of testing for the 24 layouts, I have noticed some bumps in the asphalt that need to be ironed out, so these will be sorted in the next update as well, I thought I'd got them all, but nope!
They're mainly at the joins between tracks, and just after T1 on the west 2mile track. So, yeah, just be careful you dont go airbourne!
