Thunderhill LIDAR update (part 1)
Added 2021-03-24 21:09:42 +0000 UTCHey, about time this got sent out to you guys, sorry for the delay, it's been a bit more hard work than I anticipated to get my head around the LIDAR models.
Anyway, here we go, this version of Thunderhill builds on the previous release, except the track mesh has been refined in key areas to make it more accurate to the lidar data. You can see in the image (highlighted blue) the areas which have been adjusted.

Now my workflow is back up to speed I hope to get some more of this track re-done with lidar data, mainly the areas that join the 3 mile and 5 mile layouts together, but which areas do you think need priority?
Due to the size of the files I can only really do a chunk or group of corners at one time, so working, and testing as we go seems to be the best idea.
One more thing, How do you find the look of the road surface in this release and my last few tracks? I feel like I've reached a happy medium between quality, and overall aesthetics of the asphalt now with my current export settings, but please let me know if it should be brighter, darker, less reflective etc.
AI should still work fine, but if they go a bit crazy on your, hold down shift key on the keyboard when you start the event and it should re-calculate the track boundaries for you
