Hey everybody,
I hope 2021 is off to a good star for you all, for me I’ve had lots of track requests and feedback, so it’s taking me a fair bit of time to work through everything. Towards the end of the month, you can expect a fair chunk of updates for some of the more popular tracks, as well as possibly a new one.
However, today I bring you not a track per se, but still a great place for some driving. This is a re-creation of Portales Municipal Airport in New Mexico.

note: there's a typo in the name of the track so it will show up as "portales_muncipal_airport" I've misspelled municipal, and only just spotted it.
Please don’t ask why I chose this airport to re-create, there’s nothing special about it, I just zoomed into the middle of America on google maps, spotted this one and it seemed to have pretty good ariel photography.
There is a ‘track’ layout as you’ll see from the in-game map. I’ve overlayed a satellite image of the airfield into the map files, so if you go ‘off track’ you’ll still see areas of asphalt etc (it’ll make sense once you see it in game).
It’s come to my attention that some of the maps on recent releases have been off, I think with this release the issue is now resolved, so going forward I’ll be updating the maps of current tracks when they are released.
The track layout makes use of the runway and some of the taxiway, before finishing with a technical section in the plane refueling area.
There’s an airbus A380 parked up which is probably way to big for the airfield its on, but it looks cool to drift around!
The killer feature (in my opinion) is all of the runway lights, they’ve been semi-accurately reproduced, and light up in spectacular colours at night, and lead to some really nice photo opportunities for all of you that love to press f7 and take some snaps!
Anyway, as I say, some more track updates will be out at the end of the month so keep your eyes peeled.
Thanks,
Tyrone
