Nudity in my comic: I'll talk about it.

T'was a day in mid February when the light last shone upon an incovered nipple in my comic. These past 7 months have been free of that one small part of the boob that's evil, as well as the lower 2/3 of a buttcrack that's also evil. But why?

It's simple. This is a running comic, aka readers drop off, readers come in. What you want is some retention. So what kind of audience did I want to "stick around"?.

It wasn't "pornbrained" people who didn't care what was happening as long as there was nudity, that's for sure. The nudity was and is an aspect of the core of my writing: Intimacy, safety, and trust in relationships. That's the framework, and I'll use it to tell jokes, or tell more serious stories etc.

A couple of years ago I learned that there is a term closely representing how I've always been, which is "Demisexual." Basically, you need a personal connection to feel real sexual attraction. I have a visual appreciation for nudity. It's fun to draw, nice to look at etc, but even if I draw my characters naked, it's not "horny" that drives me. My characters are fictional. I made them up. There's no real connection there. I decide what they say and do.

But, here's the turning point.

Yes, I'm not going to go out of my way to frame nudity in a "sexually gratifying" way aka deliberately frame something so you can see nips and butts etc.

However, the boring, mundane, and contextual nudity isn't something I want to avoid doing anymore.

Who knows when it'll happen next, or how frequently. Doesn't matter, that's not the overarching purpose of this comic. But including nudity feels truer to this comic than not.

Anyway, that's the jam. I'm only posting this because I've been vocal about this stuff previously, so this is effectively an "update".

And to check if anyone actually read this far down: If your reply is "came for the boobs, stayed for the plot" in any variety or capacity. Don't. It's a meme at this point. I am the singularity that receives all of those. I've heard it enough times now.
