2025-08-04 19:33:25 +0000 UTCto explain the music show wins; in kpop there’s programs on at the end of the week where groups can perform and there’s criteria they need to meet to win a trophy! it’s not a weekly thing only, there’s different shows and you can win in all of them. some off the top of my head are mccountdown , inkigayo, mucore, the show etc. the criteria is usually things like charting on korean charts, broadcast points (going on variety shows), music video views, album sales, fan votes on the app and live votes from fans. the points are tallied up and usually kpop fans are able to estimate who has the highest chance of winning so fans can go all in on votes. the winner gets the trophy, their song then promoted via the show for the next week and perform it again in an encore for their fans on stage. it’s just something that’s been in kpop forever, winning a trophy is the goal of every group because it shows the company you are successful and more money invested into the group. funny thing abt it tho is idols really don’t get payed for these performances which is insane to me… they usually have to get up at like 4am to do them and perform it multiple times, their fans will also have to apply to be at the live performance and get chosen usually based on fan memberships / height.
