No, Jace is 100% Valid. The only thing that really, in the eyes of the Nobles and Common folk, that proves Jace's legitimacy is the fact he has a Dragon. Everyone knows he is a bastard but the fact he has a dragon is seen as a sign that he is a "True Dragonlord" and worthy to be heir despite his parentage. But now that the lowborn are claiming dragons, the people will probably change their mind. Also Jace technically isnt a "Mongrel" as he comes from two highborn parents. And lastly, the reason he always disagrees with Rhaenyra is because 1. Thats his mom, out of all the council members, he has that pass imo. Like he isnt disrespectful about it, i mean he acts like a teenager with being snarky, pouty etc but thats expected and it is one of the things i do find most people being annoyed about but they keep forget he is meant to be 16. 2. He is overly protective. Most of her decisions normally involve her putting herself at risk, which is understandable, but given the fact his brother was killed, it is totally reasonable for him to not want his mom to die either. Obviously it is war, and it is sometimes inevitable, but i do get his point.

2025-03-07 19:57:41 +0000 UTCIt is complicated but we don't know if Alyn and Adam are able to ride the dragons because of their mom or Corlys, because Corlys does have Targaryen blood, as it is mentioned that the Velaryon and Targs intermarried for centuries. All Targaryens have Velaryon ancestry, so it is safe to assume the same could be said for Velaryons. Even if they don't, they are still Valyrian and theres a chance you just need a decent amount of Valyrian blood.
