Daemon said he's going to fly to Harrenhal in the Riverlands to put up an army etc. Because as Aemond said "The path to Kingslanding passes through the Riverlands." Harrenhal is the biggest castle in the Riverlands and it is btw the same place where Arya was with Tywin Lannister in Season 2 of Game of Thrones :-)

2025-02-14 23:10:44 +0000 UTCso fun book fact. In the book Daemon did intend for it to be the Aegon's son Jaehaerys. The thing was 'a son for a son' and the only thing equal to killing the Queen's son, is the King's son. However Blood & Cheese ( as it is called in the books) happened very differently, as Helaena and Aegon have three children, the twins Jaehaerys and Jaehaera and a much smaller boy named Maelor. Blood and Cheese make Helaena make a choice between which son should die. " a son for a son" Helaena chooses Maelor because he is so young and doesn't know what is happening, and then instead Blood & Cheese kill the oldest Jaehaerys instead. Helaena's decision is a big moment in the book but the show didn't introduce Maelor so it had to be changed but tbh doesn't work too well in my opinion.

And this how the book the show is based on, Fire & Blood, lays out many things. It is a history based on many sources, that many times conflict about what happened.

2025-02-14 21:32:20 +0000 UTCI love how the first thought we ALL had when Blood and Cheese (the two dipshits who killed Helaena’s son and heir to the throne) walk into the castle is “DON’T HURT THE DOG”. Recall Helaena said she was scared of “not the dragons, the rats”. Cheese was a rat catcher by trade and Blood was posing as one. The last bit is definitely one of the most brutal in the whole series. They didn’t even show it visually but the sounds are SO bad. Rhaenyra directed them to kill Aemond, Daemon was eager to take action as he tosses blame everywhere so he ran there with knowledge of Rhaenyra supporters still in Kings Landing. He told them to kill “Prince Aemond, he has one eye and silver hair he shouldn’t be hard to find” and they asked what happens if they can’t find them and the show does not specify what he says after. It is left up to interpretation if he directed them to kill any son they found or if they took that on themselves because they wanted to get more money no matter what.

2025-02-14 21:24:23 +0000 UTCHonestly, they could've done him even worse. There's more than one kind of rapist. There's Aegon types, basically spoiled rich brats who just take what they want. Not with intent to harm, just the desire to take whatever they want and not care or deal with the consequences. Then you have people that rape with the intent to cause physical and /or mental pain. The control of the victim is what they want. Aegon just saw Dyana and figured he'd have fun, not caring if she didn't like it. Not considering consequences since he's a spoiled brat and mommy always takes care of it. If he was the other kind, he would've tormented her, maybe stalked her first, and then taken a lot longer than a quickie to do what he wanted. And not been so 'whatever' when his mom came to yell at him. Not saying he's a good guy, just saying he's a bad guy that could've been a much better person if he'd been raised differently. And the writers could've made him much more evil.

Some of them are longer and more in depth than this one. But, as far as the short videos go, I think this one is pretty much spot on. Because the videos are made by various fan creators, the interpretations of what is on the tapestry are the speculation of those fans. But with the exception of a couple of minor details, I think this video is pretty accurate. By contrast, I have listened to some that I think got quite a few things wrong. And HBO did not put out any kind of official video explaining the tapestry. I really wish they would’ve done that. But maybe they think it’s more fun to let the fans come up with their own thoughts about it.

Thats why it was so different, hope that clears that up! also so excited to see you watching this show <3 literally my obsession

2025-02-14 19:48:44 +0000 UTCNo he isn't though, he's not a nice person but neither is Rhaenyra in the books, which was the whole point, the obvious misogyny and war of succesion as well as Alicent beefing with a child, etc. Like no one was truly a "good" person or even ruler per say in the end. Obviously I know the targtowers are the ones in the wrong by being misogynistic arses but like I said a more nuanced approach than boom he's a sexual assaulter so you can't actually see or feel for the humanity or complexness of the character is annoying because it make you feel bad as you feel bad for sympathising with him. It's all fiction in the end.

2025-02-14 19:24:56 +0000 UTCRhaenyra and Jace broke my heart this ep, Emma D'Arcy's performance this season is soooooo good. With the whole Daemon's orders regarding Aemond, he tells them Aemond but when one of the assians asks what to do if they don't find him Daemon gives a look to the camera and it cuts away and paired with the fact the assians say the phrase "a son for a son" -something Rhaenyra hasn't said as she just said she wnats Aemond, the conclusion would be Daemon told them any male royal will do (which you could argue he meant aegon more that the little baby boy but considering the only males are Aemond, Aegon and the the little boy. -Daemon most definitely meant it doesn't matter if you kill a child we want a son for a son whoever that may be). Poor helaena, honestly having the choose between both your children and you being killed or to save one child and condemn the other, my heart breaks. Honestly all of the siblings(viserys kids:Rhaenyra, Aegon, Helaena and Aemond) actors do a phenomenal job this season. Aegon as a character surprised me this season (no spoiler obvs), but I wish the show hadn't made him a sexual assaulter as the conflict between Rhaenyra and Aegon would most definitely have been more nuanced and complex if the show hadn't blatantly been like this is the bad guy by introducing that storyline as part of his character... This season made me realise the parallels between these two siblings and how out of depth they both are as rulers, that both of them understand and think about the smallfolk, them having to live up to expectations, etc. and honestly I think it would have been better to ponder the gray area of the conflict between the two if that storyline wasn't part of his character... Alicent the little hypocrite lmaoooo, though you know what ? As I supported Rhaenyra last season I support Alicent's right to get her back blown out (I support women's rights and wrongs(even if Alicent doesn't), sorry not sorry).
