I had to pause when you said, “I woulda let him in. Even as his therapist.” Wow!! If he had been let in that night he wouldn’t have gone back to his flat and died. Just sayin.

I didn't know you did a reaction video to this film! I just watched this a few weeks ago. It was strange to watch it again, especially so close to the last time I saw it. I was able to watch it from a different perspective since I knew the ending. I love how the film was written - leaving enough ambiguity to allow for the viewer to participate. To allow them to fill in the gaps of what they think they saw. I know there are a few floating interpretations out there about the relationship between Adam and Harry. Mine is that it was all made up by Adam to help him cope with the closure of his parents death. Harry was real. He did visit Adam that night. But everything after that night was created by Adam. Let's not forget that Adam is a writer. He can write and create any world he chooses. And for the moment, he chose to create a "what-if" version of Harry. All the dialogue we witness is Adam talking to himself. And subtly, we see Harry wearing Adam's clothes as this invented relationship blossoms. At the films end, after he let's his parents go, he decides to join the real world again. Adam's first choice of reality is seeing if Harry is still interested. Except, Harry is no longer there. Adam endures another loss - a loss of opportunity. "The Power of Love" is playing when he first meets Harry - so Adam sings it when he let's the "what-if" version of Harry go.

I watched this on Hulu here in the US and it's a slightly different version. Some small things are missing from what I saw

I’m 44 going through some health issues and my mom flew down to go to some appts with me and we were watching tv on the couch and fell asleep with my head on her lap. Instant comfort

I've watched this film 4 times now and sobbed every time. Andrew Scott is amazing in everything he does, he had the ability to just bring up emotion at the drop of a hat. He's recently done the music video for Sam Fenders new song and even with no words he made me cry in that as well. Paul is so well matched for him in this, The silent sensitivity and open discussions they have along with that devastating hurt he played at the end. Such a wonderful film, even if it breaks you every time

I love this movie so much but you need to react to normal people on bbc iplayer

As an only child of divorced parents I can confirm that going to sleep in bed with my mom were some of the most comforting moments of my life. I'd come in crying, and we'd watch a Star Trek episode (I always found the show boring) and I'd fall right to sleep in her arms.

Love this movie so much! It's such a beautiful and heartbreaking film. One interpretation I've heard that I like is that Adam is also dead (died in a fire, that's why everyone comments on him being hot and he coughs and hears the smoke alarm) but all the people around them (including themselves) are ghosts who have un-finished business so they haven't moved on. For the parents, they couldn't pass on until they got to spend some time with their son. Same for Adam, he needed time with his parents AND someone to fall in love with. And Harry needed to not be alone for once in his life, and Adam was someone who was finally there for him. So beautiful and tragic ❤️

Came back to Patreon because of it. Love this movie so much. Please react to some of their interviews, they are so funny together

The Tommo Way

Your comment on their chemistry..yeah. I highly recommend watching their press videos together. Their chemistry even off screen is so natural and fun to watch.

Thank you for your little mini rant about having kids lol speaking as someone in their early 30s who has never had a desire for kids, it’s baffling to me that some people see that as a “less fulfilling” life. Some people just don’t want them, idk? 😂

k80scorner

Actually the more I think about it ..it's definitely that Adam is dead. It was Harry that was alive and able to see the ghost of Adam. Both didn't realize they were dead till through Adam he realizes he's dead...and then Adam just thinks he's so the one alive that is seeing ghosts of his parents. Adam just thinks he's a living dude, hooking up with another living dude but even after the discovery of Harry....Adam is still the only one who doesn't realize his own death. Harry is not able or wanting to move on because he's not ready to accept his death and they both want to stay with each other and maybe eventually Adam will realize he is dead too and accept it but for now they are ghosts together.

Never heard of this but I’m down to watch anything with you!🫡💗

paul and andrew really killed this

I wasn't considering him also being dead..dying in a fire but it makes sense. I thought he was the one alive and visiting actual ghosts. Not him making them up in his mind but like an actual ghost story of spirits not moving on because they have unfinished business and missing details on their lives. He goes to see the parents and develps a relationship with their spirits and because of that and they see him keep visiting as something that will hold him back from living his life. And he eventually started developing a relationship with Harry's spirit. And because Harry's spirit isn't ready to accept the knowledge of his death, Harry is not ready to go yet. But I suppose indeed it's everyone who is a spirit. It does make sense with the fire alarm and the coughing. Brilliant either way.

I had been wanting to see this movie and I cried along with you Brad- to borrow one of your phrases I was roaring! Andrew Scott is an incredible actor and the story was both heartbreaking and beautiful. What a film, so glad you did this one thankyou💜💜

Kat

Watching him live is a phenomenal experience too. He’s able to convey such powerful emotion

Such a beautiful and heartbreaking movie. It leaves things quite open to interpretation. My favorite is that they were all in purgatory, Adam died in a fire (the fire alarm at the beginning) — everyone is always commenting on him being hot, him having that crazy coughing fit in the train like he inhaled a ton of smoke. The empty apartment building with only Adam and Harry in it. So many things kind of lend themselves to that interpretation so that’s how I’ve chosen to interpret it. Thanks for sharing your reaction! 🩷

Amanda Hill

Not Brad saying at the beginning "Go right back to that door and let him in" THE FORESHADOWING 😭
