Also, the whole "well they're only x years old in the book" is so pointless to me. They're obviously not in the show. Dany isn't a 14 year old, here. It's one of many aspects of her character that they changed for the film. Tommen isn't 9. Jon isn't 18. So I don't think it's reasonable to judge relationships or actions based on the book age of a character who is clearly not that age in the show. Yes, the idea of a 60 year old guy being in love with a woman in her young 20s is creepy to me. But Jorah's never been pushy or inappropriate and I think it's more idol worship than anything. Dany would be a hard woman to not put on a pedestal especially after seeing all of her miracles and grace up close as Jorah has. Add to that the setting and the circumstances (they spend so much time together and age is less of an issue in this era and they have bonded through hardship), Jorah loving Dany doesn't feel creepy to me. I don't ship them or anything--I don't think them ending up together was right for the story or for either of their characters. But it doesn't creep me out. Especially relative to a lot of far more inappropriate or horrifying relationships in this show...

I think Jon is such an idiot. Like he's a terrible leader. He never made an effort to explain or lobby or try to educate. He just ended up in charge and made huge sweeping changes overnight. And I get the urgency but he was such a stubborn, blunt instrument about it. Like when he went to the Hardhome and was like "I shot Mance in the heart with an arrow" immediately putting the people he was attempting to earn the trust of on guard and angry. When he could have, without lying, explained what actually happened. You can yell about people just letting go and accepting change but that's not an easy thing to do especially when you're so close to the issue and hurt and angry. Like really imagine your newly elected leader saying "you know those people whom it has literally been our entire purpose to fight and protect the realms of men from? The ones who reave and rape on our land and who just slaughtered 50 of your friends and brothers? We're just going to let them live happily on our land now." That's going to be a hard pill to swallow and felt like the WRONG choice to a lot of people. But Jon seemed annoyed that people disagreed and pushed back and, instead of trying to convince them, he just did it anyway. That's his prerogative as the leader but I'm not surprised at all that it led to mutiny. The same thing happened to Ned. You can be noble without being naive. But they both felt they were righteous and above the politics and right and failed to adequately consider the feelings and fears of the people who opposed them and they both died because of that. He doesn't have the sense to be a leader.
