RED, WHITE & ROYAL BLUE is BUCK WILD. ~ unedited reaction ~

Comments

Have you seen this movies: The thing about Harry or single all the way

Maria Truedsson

Literally just joined like 2 minutes ago. This movie has become one of my favorites, and I saw your video on youtube and loved it. So I just had to come check out your patreon. Can't wait to see you react to the full movie and to other of my favorite films.

Rea Set

I agree with you. I like that Alex, in the movie, has a loving, supportive family. That would explain his confidence and idealism which, at times makes him not see the seriousness of a situation like what Henry has to face. Absolutely adore the playful vibe of the movie whilst bringing up some very real issues.

Johanna Nel

That’s what I said ☺️

Hannah Bond

Well, Alex is still in college, so I'm thinking he's like 21, and in the book he is voting.

Donna Delaune

Me too, I literally wanted to scream that Fry was playing the homophobic king, lol. LOVE him!

Donna Delaune

Me too, lol

Donna Delaune

He wasn't nearly as good as he is in real life!!

Donna Delaune

Ikr?? I screamed about Stephen Fry too. Such an ironic play. Brad obviously doesn't know that Fry himself is a gay ICON! Love Fry!!!

Donna Delaune

Oh, love, your reaction to this movie is EVERYTHING i thought it would be. I sure hope you read the book, becuse there is sooooooooo much more to the story. 🥰😁😘💋💖

TXStevenB

Your reaction to the “he is” bit is everything 👏🏻👏🏻😂

KitaLeanne

There's a movie called "Bros" with Billy Eichner and Luke MacFarlane. It's the first big Hollywood studio gay rom-com. Though I think it wasn't received that well. But it's a nice time to pass.

Tal

I agree with everything you just said ❤️One of my more emotional moments while watching Brad is also the first time I heard him declare ”bi is fine”. It made me so happy to hear as I also identify as bi 🏳️‍🌈

Jeanette Höög

I loved the movie but I loved your reactions more.

Katja Knox

I have to say the movie was def made for the book fans. Henry really is a dramatic gay in book and movie but also has such high stakes 24-7. But I think its good to see some cheesy gay rep instead of dramatic and trauma. Loved it as a book reader.

HippyHaleyPhil

There are some many gay movies that you could do, but most of these are movies most people do not know are around but are amazing. You will find the book has so much more information about their relationship.

Matthew Dod

i waited to watch this movie until you posted because I wanted to watch with your reaction so I loved this movie I rlly hope there's a second movie bc I love them

athraa

The actor who plays the Prince is in another gay film, called Handsome Devil, which would be fun to review.

Zack

Don't ever wipe tears without gloves (torka aldrig tårar utan handskar) is an amazing Swedish miniseries. Sad as fuck, but a must see!

Ian St

i would LOVE if you reacted to cmbyn 👏

nana

LOVE, SIMON 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Livi Parker

Moonlight is also a great film ☺️

Niki G

We'd have to get him the DVDs, because the digital versions are unwatchable due to the music being changed. The show is so problematic, but I love it with my whole heart. It'd be impossible to edit for YouTube, so it'd have to be a Patreon exclusive.

Mandi Mateer

the cake controversy was ridiculous but, i think, realistic. the obsession people have with the royal family IS ridiculous. imagine if, at william and kate's wedding, the american president's sound and prince harry knocked over a disgustingly expensive cake. people would be talking about it eeeeeverywhere (unfortunately). i'm always shocked when people don't know stephen fry (the man who played the king), even if i get not everyone shares my brain. i literally screamed when he walked into the room! stephen is an out, gay man who would have eaten the king alive if they were ever in the same room so it was hilarious to see him playing such a character. one of my favorite quotes is from stephen fry - "better sexy and racy than sexist and racist." also not you being shocked at gays falling in love after some flirty texts and being melodramatic all over the place. xD i really enjoyed the reaction, as always! thank you for being you. :D

brittany beyerle

i think everyone is so hard on henry. i don’t think people realise how much pain and suffering he was in throughout the movie and everyone is always so quick to slide his trauma off as him being a dick :(

Lu

But Im A Cheerleader is one of my faves!

Blissfullycat

Oh My God I would love for him to react to the US version of QAF! It was so good.

Blissfullycat

Texas would be very hard to flip blue because while there are a few bigger cities that lean blue the majority is red. It would honestly be more likely that other states would flip though. Luckily most of the larger populated states are blue. There are a lot of people in the US who wouldnt mind the presidents son, or even the president, to be gay and might vote blue but unfortunately our (admittedly idiotic) electroal college means that a president could win the popular vote but still lose the election if a state votes mostly blue but it representative doesnt (its how Trump beat Hilary unfortunately) but if enough people voted to elect a woman its more likely that they wouldnt let her son being gay be an issue (it honestly, and unfortunately, comes down to more young voters who are less bigoted voting and the older bigoted voters passing). I actually think Alex took a bigger risk coming out than Henry because if the family and people were against Henry, he could walk away (as Harry did) and it would probably be hard and he'd hate it but since, as you know, the monarchy isnt really elected or doesnt truly have rule, it wouldnt have affected anything but the familial relationships and sometimes (as most LGBTQ people know) you have to choose your found family over your biological one.

Blissfullycat

You are not the only one that thought this film was quick. But other than that it was still a good film

Channon

Your reaction to Henry saying that Alex is a mouthful was EVERYTHING. I was just as shocked as you 🤣🤣🤣

Channon

Loved this reaction!!!! When will you do the rest of the Maze Runner Trilogy??

Summer Riggs

Idk I think if you are put in a position of power then it's only fair that you educate yourself on the things you could do to help and try to do it. There are so many people in the world with incredible ideas and ways to help make the world a better place but have no power to do anything. If you have the voice then use it. Help amplify the voices of others if you don't have enough knowledge. If you believe your parent is doing things wrong or turning against their morals then it's never wrong to question them on it. It's always good to have the people there to remind them where they came from, what they're trying to achieve and if it's for the right reasons etc.

ChloeReynolds

Okay there is no way I'm the only one who thought Henry sounded so good singing. lol

Lacey

As someone from Texas yes it’s huge. Just to get to one side to the other is 12hrs and all other Texas questions the answer is yes

Sky morris

Love your reaction and I love this movie, I would say the book is so good and I actually think you would enjoy it and it fleshes put the characters out a lot more. I would say being realistic there is no way that there would be a happy ending ‘in the movie’ for them in real life. At least not for a while. Cue to literally all the anti gay messaging still being spread in both countries and lit Harry and Meghan as examples. Homophobia, racism and general ignorance is still prevalent today. While it shouldn’t matter the fact is that it still does.

Felleng Nthane

you should totally watch “handsome devil”!! another gay one, also with the guy who plays henry weirdly enough. it’s one of my favourites! :)

meg

The president had a Texan accent, Brad. That's why she sounds that way. People thinking this movie is graphic is so hilarious. Watch one episode of Queer as Folk (the US version) and see if you still think RWRB is explicit. Please don't sully your channel with Call Me By Your Name. Armie Hammer is a monster.

Mandi Mateer

You really should watch Shadowhunters! You'll love it!

Ruslan Zulfugarov

The book is incredibly smutty. Will that finally convince you to finish reading it, Brad? 😂

Isabel Corp

Firstly, read the book, it is so much thirstier than the film, and their emails are so much more romantic, and you understand Henry a lot more, I think that's one of the biggest things the film really doesn't capture. Secondly, you sorry if missed a bit on the barge in the lake where Alex is saying to Henry that once the election is over they can walk through Austin holding hands, it's subtle and the book does explore it better, but Henry does say right at the start that they need to keep out casual, he can't afford to have Alex fall in love with him, he has centuries of history bearing down on him. In the book he struggles so much with his privilege and using his position for good, respecting his duty to his country, not wanting to disappoint people and waste his privilege. Thirdly, I have to ask, do you not know who Stephen Fry is? It kinda seemed like you don't. Fourthly, can you please watch "But I'm A Cheerleader"? Such an iconic queer film. Also, "Dating Amber", it's on Netflix in Australia, I assume it would be in England too.

Kiki

Bloodshot diva! Please do ‘Love, Simon’ and subsequently do the ‘Love, Victor’ series. Also not a queer own but ‘Purple Hearts’ on Netflix could be a good react.

Jayne

omg a Love Simon reaction would be amazing! Another great queer romcom that's a bit of a hidden gem is The Thing About Harry. its pretty much When Harry Met Sally but gay.

sadie

Brad the president speaks like that because she is supposed to be from Texas ahaha

Rebeka Berga

literally just signed up for patreon just for this video!!!!

Rebeka Berga

Omg yes love Simon and crush I would love Brad to watch them!!

Cassandra

I think you’d loveeeee killing eve!!

Megan Collinge

Thank you soooo much for this! I had been expecting this since the movie aired. Throwing out suggestions out there, can we watch old movie here To All the Boys I've loved before? I know it's 2018 movie but gives me the butterflies

Mario Lopez

Brad, please Read the book!! It is wayyy better, so many things are explained a lot better, and the romance is overall better. I did enjoy the movie, but it and the book are almost 2 completely different things. I also feel like you will understand Henry’s character more and why he does a lot of things. There are quite a few characters that weren’t in the movie at all that to me really felt necessary for the story. So just read the book!

Cheyennenicole97

would love to see you watch Merlin(bbc version) its a canon gay story

Tin Tellmar

Yeah, I agree with everything you said. I definitely don't think he would have felt confident/comfortable enough to be that open with Alex if he was talking face to face/on the phone - at least at first The emails are for sure some of my favourite bits from the book - I also think it's very well written (I basically flew the chapters and read it in like three days - which is very fast for me - cause it was so hard to put down)

alex

I watched it about fifteen minutes after finishing the book cause I couldn't wait any longer, and it didn't really affect my opinion of the movie negatively - but I do understand why you might feel that way! I will admit the thing that kinda confused me was that they completely removed four characters (besides the queen, I guess, cause it's a king in the movie); I was wondering why they did that

alex

Please do “Love, Simon” and have you ever watched “Schitt’s Creek”? David and Patrick’s relationship from season 3 - 6 is amazing.

Male Gutpunching

Let's all be honest: THIS is the reaction we've waited for. Other reactors are fine....but we want our Brad Hunny.

Julian Gines

Blood shot diva. Also I would love for you to react to My Policeman :D

Aster

You should definitely react to Love Simon, it's great! I also think you would like Fire Island - it's another gay rom com.

Nalia

The "big fat white guy" king. Lmao. He's about the most gay proud actor and activist in the world. Stephen Frye. He's amazing. Loved your reaction Brad as always and yes. What a great gay love (not just sex) scene. Bravo

Trey Cummins

Right. I was dying. The voice of gay Britain as the homophobic king. Ahahaha.

Trey Cummins

also blood shot divas lol

Kami

call me by ur name would be so fun!! would love to rewatch it

Kami

Yep, me too! I saw a Minnesotan youtube reactor react to this movie and he went on a little rant about it, it was hilarious!

Nalia

yesssss do love simon its so good, i know a lot of people hate it for some reason but honestly its very good and the book is even better

sebastian

Third!

Nathan Madson

You should react to Heartbreak High. It’s very, very gay

Nathan Madson

Just about to say that! Hello from another Minnesotan!

Nathan Madson

I love that one too

Diane Furlong

I love that Stephen Fry, one of the loudest out-and-proud gay men and anti-monarchists, plays the homophobic King.

Brian - DocHikes - Hall

You should totally watch “the thing about harry”

Oscar Desogus

'what, were you passed around or something????' BRADDDDDDDD I'M YELLING

Ruby Alice

I will say I enjoyed the movie more during this watch along with brad. I made the mistake of watching the movie the first time the same night I finished the book. I was so focused on what was different that it originally hurt my enjoyment of the film.

Jacob Minger

RANDOM but when you said that being gay isn’t that bad it reminds me of the recent trixie & katya heartstopper video where trixie says “being gay isn’t hard, straight people make being gay hard” and i thought you’d appreciate that lol

Tori Jeri

The thing that made me upset about the movie was the last bit with the map…I’m from Minnesota and would sooner die that vote for a Republican president 🤣 We’ve voted blue consistently since the 70s, dammit!

Megan Brick

Literally only halfway through and it’s already the funniest vid you made I love it..couldn’t stop giggling at your reactions

Nastja

I thought so haha💜

Hannah Bond

You were right! Henry is 22 in the books and turns 23 midway through!

Darren🍂

i apologise. i was trying to give some contextual background only from what ive heard.. but realise they are generalisations. ive never been to texas, but do follow american politics and there always seems to be those contentious issues such as rampant gun obsession, bigotry, etc. no doubt there are millions of great people there too but usually the majority drowns out the majority. i hope to see the day where ftexas does actually flip blue. apologies if i offended in any way:

LM-Entertainment Australia

like what?

Brad Evans

Emma Satterfield

It’s so strange to hear people talk about Texas like Brad and you have here based on my life experience but I do get it. I acknowledge the political aspect but in reality, cities like Austin, Dallas, Houston, etc. have huge, thriving LGBT+ communities and are very much “normal” while still maintaining the best parts of Texas culture, ie cowboys, boots, toughness, etc. (lol obviously more but those are the stereotypes) and I loved how much Alex loves Texas in the book and movie because most of us here DO love it, even in spite of the “old white people traditional belief” crowd that tend to be in the news.

Em

also yes the issue Henry was bringing up is that Alex is planning on continuing into politics and he’s saying politics is just as much of a prison as the royal family & he doesn’t wanna have a life like that. (which evidently he overcomes)

Tori Jeri

tbh i like the movie more than the book (ik it’s an unpopular opinion) i just didn’t enjoy the writing style of the book so the movie was more enjoyable for me. also not you not knowing the spy kids lmaooo

Tori Jeri

I SECOND THIS!!!! ITS ONE OF MY FAV SHOWS

Tori Jeri

Bloodshot divas!! I'm so excited you're doing this movie (I love it so so much) I definitely think you should finish the book (it goes into so much detail and there's bits that didn't make it into the movie - which I understand ofc, for runtime reasons - that are so lovely That being said, I do think this is the first time I've loved a book and it's movie/show adaptation equally (as much as they had to cut or change, it has the same essence/feel that the book has - for me, at least - and that's more important than everything being exactly like the book) Also, I'd totally love to see your commentary to Love, Simon, it's a great movie as well! And off the top of my head, I can only think of the movie Crush to recommend (it's very rom-com-esque, and very entertaining!!)

alex

The book is so well written, because even if it's from Alex's perspective, through Henry's email you understand how deep he is closeted, not just as a gay prince, but as a man. He never felt like he could be himself, and it transpires through every word he writes, because with Alex, he can truly be who he is and never needs to pretend. And tbh, I think it wouldn't have been the same if they had talked on the phone or face to face.

Pauline

Yes please react to Call Me by Your Name!! No such thing as too many gay reactions, I’ll watch them all

Salomé

I had to join just to watch this. I can’t wait 🤣

Megan Brick

Ah, yes! I'm usually not a "baby" person myself tbh, but I think it's the way he SAID it, you know?! (Also, in the book he starts calling him that because he noticed that every time he said it "Henry just melts" - and that is adorable)

alex

also pls read the book it’s sooooo much better than this!!!

jenelle

brad you NEED to watch heartbreak high on netflix id live for your reaction to that. it’s got lots of gays

jenelle

i needed to rewatch that movie today for mental health reasons so THANK YOU for uploading your reaction just in time. Alex is such a bi icon (and a walking Hamilton reference) and Henry radiates Jane Austen loveinterest energy and is just THE gay booknerd, I love them both so much.

Alocada Who

It's so funny the total ragging on Stephen Fry without realizing how funny his whole thing was. A gay icon such as Stephen Fry playing a homophobic(but kind of not really, because if he really were he wouldn't have conceded they loved each other) King. In the book it's a queen and she really is pretty homophobic. I'm sad they didn't add the mother to the movie but it would have put more time on it. Just sad that the only one in Henry's family that is supportive is Bea, at least he has his made family with Percy.

Pamela Chandler Rash

What you said about Henry being willing to bue used reminded me of that line from the book - one of Alex's emails to H where he said something like not having realised what he was offering to do to himself (when offering a casual relationship). That bit actually made me really emotional for some reason

alex

Everything you said = 👏 Nick also has a lot of covers on YouTube (definitely worth checking out) Also, I love both Alex and Henry (so freaking much) equally - I guess maybe because I'm neither American nor British I don't really have a preference...? And yes, the book for sure shows how much Henry suffers from all that pressure! He's such a sweet boy and he deserves all the love 🥹

alex

Nicholas(Henry) has to be very talented to sing bad when he's got a beautiful voice. Just watch Cinderella to see, also you get a himbo prince there. Something I've noticed about reactors to this movie. The American's lean towards Henry and the anyone in the UK lean towards Alex, I think because people like differences. I agree with what someone else said here, the book really shows how much pressure and pain Henry is under on a daily basis.

Pamela Chandler Rash

Ohhh I guess that makes sense with Alex drinking.

Makayla Hall

They aged them up for the movie. I believe Alex is 24-25 and Henry is 26 -27 in the film

Michael D

I am a lesbian in Texas and yes, it is bad here

Maddy

Also, this is not about being disowned. this is about what you do next? Who is going to hire a Prince? Realistically, you can't just up and leave the Royal Family without a back-up plan on how to earn money and have a roof on your head.

Pauline

I haven't finished watching, but there's something I think you don't realise (probably because it's better developped in the book), but Alex is very much into politics. He plans on being the youngest congressman ever and would love to become President. Politics is a huge part of Alex's personality and he chose this life. Whereas Henry didn't. He was born into it. Up until Alex came into his life he never thought he could have this, a proper relationship and being loved in return. He lost the only person in his life who encouraged him to be himself right at the time where it matters the most. Besides Bea and Percy, he doesn't have anyone in his corner. His whole life, people have told him that he can't be this and should be that. He is willing to let himself be used because he never thought he had a choice. Sorry for the rant lmao. I agree with a lot of what you said on how bullshit this is though haha

Pauline

If you're looking for another gay rom com I highly recommend "The thing about Harry". It's got gay and pansexual main characters, enemies to lovers and just a real feel good film with none of the gay trauma! Would love to see your reaction 😊

Kirsty Scott

Love this! I read the book first and DEFINITELY recommend giving it another try. The film just cut out so much of their backgrounds and the relationship buildup. The "baby" is also because of the book, because that's a running pet name Alex uses. The book also has even more gay storylines with other characters. Long story short, I do suggest trying to read the book again 😅

Tara Cabache

round white man = stephen fry (a gay icon) :)

aidan

the fact stephan fry (the one who played the king) is also gay just makes it better

mia lily 🌸

If you’re looking for more LGBTQ+ movies, highly recommend Handsome Devil, with the actor who plays Prince Henry, and Dating Amber. Both are Irish coming of age dramas with amazing acting and beautifully nuanced storylines.

Crystal Pritchard

Yess so excited to watch this❤️🤍💙

Lexx

yesss I love them too but I also think the movie is fast and many stuff was a little bit confusing. It should be a series with more details like Henry’s respective and they fall in love so fast imo. I read from the book fans said there are so many details they didn’t show in the movie, I guess those missing parts maybe the reason made ppl feel cringe idk But I really love them and enjoyed it.

NeilGao

Bloodshot Diva♡ I actually decided not to watch this movie till you did so I wasn't watching it alone lol didn't disappoint ♡

Deseree Maree

I'm so glad you realised that Henry could have been assassinated if he came out towards the end, I was wondering if you'd realise that. Absolutely love this reaction, I was giggling my head off when you realised that Henry said Alex was a "mouthful"

Neela Speed

yes please react to love Simon!!

caitlin

You should do God's Own Country, lovely gay film and not that widely known

Marco VG

Welcome back! You look great.

Kelli G

you made some comments about texas and your thoughts were correct. it's a very conservative place that loves guns over humans lives, hates minorities etc. it is the second largest state population-wise after california with approx 30 million people. a lot of older white people with traditional beliefs, but they're slowly being overtaken by the newer generations with universities and schools being more diverse.

LM-Entertainment Australia

theres also a short end credit scene at the end!!

Oliver

Thai bl be hitting different lmao

Claudia

babes not everything’s slander 😂

Brad Evans

LOVED!!! I also need you to know the homophobic king and Prince Philip are queer men and I think homophobes should only ever be played by queers from now on cuz slay!! There’s so many differences in the book (the sex scenes are HOT) so they’re definitely two different things but I think you have to approach the film as inspired by the book so you’re not disappointed! Also, the Henry actor can sing beautifully in real life so that karaoke scene is hilarious to me! Another great reaction, Brad! Yes, please do Love Simon and Call Me By Your Name! x

Laura Hyde

Ok ease up on the Henry slander please

Sofia

Yes! I have been waiting patiently for this reaction. I’m so glad to see your views on it. I would 100% recommend finishing the book. Alex and Henry’s relationship developed more naturally in it, and it also goes into more detail about Henry’s life as a member of the royal family providing much more context as to why he struggles with allowing Alex to love him. Xx

Els Acorn

You have to do call me by your name

Ruby

loved the reaction. It’s just so fun to watch your reactions where you just scream and put your hands up bevause you can’t contain the emotion/excitement. Hahahah. It’s fun to watch as someone who does that aswell. Also thankyou for the “bi is fine” thing. I remember hearing you say it for the first time and it just made me so happy. And the fact you kept it going and continue to just be normal human being about it. It’s just so nice to watch as someone who is bi, it’s just validating. Thanks queen

Molly Maye

Highly, highly recommend checking out the extremely popular Thai gay show 'Moonlight Chicken' which you can find & watch on YouTube. The director is a gay man himself & the actors are also smoking hot in that one haha. Also amazing story lines & story telling. Pulls at your heartstrings but in a good way. Feels really warm whilst also being realistic.

Megan Brady

I lost it when you called Stephen Fry: this round white man hahah

Sanna Svensson

Not STEPHEN FRY being described as a round white man 😭😭😭 killed me

Lauren Blewitt

Brad calling the gay icon Sir Stephen Fry “this round white man” was hilarious 🤣🤣 Would love to see you do Love Simon or Call Me By Your Name and I’d also like to suggest In From The Side or God’s Own Country which are both great gay films!

Daniel Welham

It's all about the BLOODSHOT DIVAS !

sablelicious

I also agree about the Royal Family ..... I am Canadian and I was hoping after Queen Elizabeth passed away (of course may she Rest in Peace) that we'd politically 'Break Up' with the British Royal Family

Jess M.C

I think they aged up the characters for the film purpose, In the book Alex is 21 turning like 22 and Henry is like 22/23 turning 23/24 I think? I should honestly know I've read and listened to the audiobook so many times at this point pahaha! I adore this universe so much! x 💙

Hannah Bond

Now Brad bestie ily but that “baby” was one of the most adorable moments of the movie and I will not accept slander towards any of that entire scene😭

Darren🍂

Tickled pink to see this pop up this morning! It’s the gay romcom we didn’t know we needed!

Jonathan Day

lol I think my favourite line is 'if anyone sees you leaving this hotel I will Brexit your head from your body' lol I laughed too hard!

Jess M.C

The whole premise is a bit silly, but also I think you missed the part where cake cost £75,000 so it also wasn’t a small expense. I’m at the beginning but rejoined Patreon to see your unedited reaction. So excited!!!

Crystal Pritchard

Btw haha Nicholas is a v good singer in real life but Henry in the book is meant to be not great haha xx 💙💙

Hannah Bond

i am shocked at you saying the SPY KIDS photo henry sent at the start was a weird photo!!

Grace Pryor

Yessssssssss!!!

MinaAnne

DONT HATE ON ALEXS FASHION CHOICES 😭 he has a very American fashion choice literally like the wife beater with the unbuttoned button up is a very common thing to wear in the summer in America. And the photo that Henry sent I believe was a spy kids reference. Henry is ment to be like 23 I believe and Alex is ment to be 20-21 because in the book I believe he turns 21. Also I wanna point out I LOVE out unhinged/real? Almost idk how to explain it but I love these unedited videos because of how funny you are 😭. Also a movie that's from like 2018 I think. Its a sad and cute ish movie it's call The Miseducation of Camron Post. I've never seen anyone reacting to it but it's also a book. Its a sad movie but also has a good ending.

Makayla Hall

babe ily but not you dragging alex’s outfit when you’re wearing it 🤣

Myranda Morneault

Let’s go

Maddy

Whelp that’s my afternoon sorted. I loved the book. I like the film but feel like it has some issues but I’m excited for your reaction to it.
