I think the show actually is quite mature in saying they empathise with him but dont excuse it. I think the problem is people want either a redemption to hero arc for him or keep him as a villain but I actually prefer the murky waters of whether he is on a good road or not, its quite a realistic portrayal that is very rare for tv

Nobody else is gonna be happy with him either, he was a dick to imogen and Charlie's friends obviously won't like him. Charlie understands that Ben hates himself and can't come out which he said to him he understands but at the same time surely you can't expect Charlie to act kindly towards him? Taking out your self hatred like that on anyone isn't good for either side and it doesn't make it okay just because he hates himself π

It's gay boys like Ben that end their own lives due to the self loathing they feel and feel from the world around them. The way the show deals with Ben as the "bad guy" is the one part of season 2 which made me very uncomfortable and felt like the "good guys" ended up just making things worse for Ben and any young gay males feeling the same self hatred that the character does.

His accent is not flawless, but it's pretty good and totally understandable. Nick is already such a likable character, it just made him even cuter. M. Farouk is so funny. His facial expressions are always making me laugh, and he has so many little one liners that are brilliant. I'm so glad they kept the teachers in.

But I can't imagine Nick with anyone but Charlie and I don't think he can either.

As adults of course it would be a given that couples share beds in these situations, but they're still just kids (even if Kit Connor really doesn't look it this season lmao).
