This has always been too horrible and heart wrenching to sit through. I barely even remembered The Mockingjay movies. But I enjoyed watching these with you. It made it a lot more fun this time around. Also because you liked this series I think you would enjoy The Giver, City of Ember, Snowpiercer (movie and TV show), Warm bodies, Love and Monsters, Equals, the Divergent franchise and The Host. I can't wait for more Twilight I think you'll really love the movies going forward. Breaking Dawn part 2 is my favorite. And watching The Maze Runner with you was so fun. I only watched the first two so it'll be a great time having someone to watch them with. 💙💙💙

2023-06-27 05:49:50 +0000 UTCI am all for Maze Runner!! I think it may be my favorite YA dystopian series out of all of them. Actually, I know it is. Hunger Games is definitely close but the books are so much better in my opinion. Especially Book 1 vs movie 1. I read the book then saw the movie very shortly after, and the amount of details that were left out of the movie pissed me right off. I almost swore off watching the rest of the movies. Now it’s been so long since I’ve read the books I don’t remember all those details and can enjoy the movies for what they are😆 Anyway. 💯 Maze Runner next. And I have NEVER seen Twilight! I’ve never wanted to but your reactions just may be enough to convince me… we’ll see. 😉

The letter Haymitch read to Katniss was actually supposed to be a scene between Plutarch Heavensbee, who was Coin's right hand man, and Katniss. Phillip Seymour Hoffman, who played Plutarch, actually passed away during filming of Mockinjay pt 2. There were a few more scenes he was supposed to be in, but that was the bigger one, since it happens this way in the book.

The love triangle is indeed there, but not too much. It could have been way more present and ramatic so I'm glad they stayed quite true to the book with it being in the background more than anything else. It's more in service to the plot as a whole than anything else. This movie is so intense. It's heartbreaking, but I love how realistic it is in terms of war, mind games and politics. War is ugly, very ugly, but if you don't take a step back you end up doing the same mistakes over again. That is exactly the trap that Gale falls into. I love that Katniss says yes to the games only to gain Coin's trust. She kills Coin before the announcement so they never happen. If you go back to the movie, she actually says to Gale that you could justify the games with such a mindset (when he talks about trapping them under the mines in district 2 I think) So, she clearly would be against them. Haymitch was against them too, but he understood Katniss better than anyone and knew she had a reason to say yes so he sided with her. The whole having a delayed explosion was Gale's idea, that's why even though he doesn't officially know anything about it, he guessed it was their own side and stayed away. He knew it was over for him the moment that bomb went off and killed Prim. She never would have chosen him anyway, regardless of Peeta. They were too alike, he was too bitter, selfish and angry at the world for them to have a healthy relationship. Anyways, bog (I loved Boggs) and see you next time (except for GoT, sorry).

I had the pleasure of meeting them both at a restaurant. Josh was born about 100 miles from where I was born in Kentucky (maybe hour and half drive). He sat around and talked to me and my Mom for a bit. Morgan ate and bailed, understandably, everyone was bugging him. Both were very nice.
