THAT CHILD MAKES ME FURIOUS.

Enjoy!! xoxox

Game of Thrones *episode 2 unedited*

Comments

hey Brad, the reason Jon's last name is Snow is because that's the last name given to bastards and illegitimate children and orphans in the north. Each region has its own last name for bastards. Because his parent aren't married he can't legally be considered a Stark so they give bastards different names

holly

Hey Brad, do you watch drag race?

Brayton

the fact i knew the exact child the caption was talking about before i even started watching

Audrey F

Also, there definitely are supposed to be subtitles when the Dothraki are speaking. When Daenerys was telling Drogo to lie down, she said to him: “I wish to look into your eyes tonight.” 😌😌

Tamia

Yeah, Catlyn’s pissed at Jon Snow because she’s been raising another woman’s baby. Jon is not her child, he’s Ned’s bastard.

LLCoolT

"Snow" is the last name for every child born out of wedlock in the north. A bastard. In the South, it's "Sand" :)

june

Thank you, that is what I meant! I did not read the books and they would be screwed either way. I meant irl in earlier years like the Middle Ages and also amongst royals it was more common to do incest with your cousins or uncle/aunts than it is today in our modern society.

Sina Schneider

love that you are doing this, fully obsessed with your reactions to it all, and don't worry about talking over it, that is what we watch for ;-)

Tony de Wilde

Absolutely giddy I get to rewatch this series alongside you from the start! Let’s gooooooooo!

LLCoolT

I LOVEE THAT YOURE DOING THIS. A lot of ppl suggested already but I also think subtitles is a great idea for this show, that way if you miss something while commenting you can catch it by text maybe. Easier to get the names right also!

Victoria Tofoli

Correct @mamaseesa . unless that incest is cousins or uncle/nieces. That kinda incest was practiced regularly within nobels

Nana-Afia

Lol I live for GOT reactions, because I have nobody I can watch the show with! My bestie watched it on her own because she lives so far away, and I had to make a deal with my hubby to get him to watch. My daughter would LOVE to watch, but she's 15 and there's only so many times I can cover her eyes before it gets annoying!! She knows the whole story though. To the point that you would think she's seen it. She watched HOTD with me, that was way easier to filter.

MamaSeesa

Pretty much. I think Lyanna was Ned's older sister, and the Mad King killed Ned's brother as well. Which is bittersweet, since Cat was originally supposed to marry the brother, not Ned.

MamaSeesa

Not just arranged, they were lucky to be married at all, since she was originally supposed to marry Ned's brother!

MamaSeesa

No it was only 'acceptable' for Targaryens to incest, because of the bloodlines and such. Everybody else couldn't do it. It was a big thing in Fire and Blood, there were wars over whether or not the Targaryen king could marry his sister. To the point that one brother sister couple hid their marriage at first while trying to bring the people around. Cersei and Jamie would be screwed, not in a fun way, and she even said so in their first scene, that if Rob knew about them, their heads would be on spikes.

MamaSeesa

You absolutely need subtitles with this show. You’ll be so lost without them!!

Ember Caldwell

Game of thrones! Hell yeah

Bre stine

If it makes you feel better about Dany and Khal Drogo, Jason Mamoa went overboard to help Emilia Clark in their bedroom scenes. He cracked jokes, befriended her, got her a robe when nobody else bothered to, etc. Kept asking if she was OK after brutal stuff. He was a prince. Also, even though you haven't seen much of it yet, the wolves are very much a reflection of the Stark children they're with. Lady was a sweet, innocent, perfect girl, just like Sansa (who honestly gets a bit of a bad rep at first, but remember she's a child, a 13 year old girl who just wants to be noticed by the handsome prince). Nymeria is a bit of a wild child, just like Arya, not fitting the perfect mold like Sansa and Lady. So watch the wolves, it's a little subtle at times, but I love seeing how they grow together.

MamaSeesa

I've seen this entire show but I only vaguely remember things. Getting to re-watch along with you is so much fun! Can't wait for ep. 3

Kellye Yates

One thing I want to say about Sansa because I love her is that she is meant to marry Joffrey (the prince) so if she went against his word, he would have ruined her life if they were to marry or not married her at all which is what she wants. Saying she doesn't remember is an act of rebellion in itself.

Cameran Sorensen

Also think you missed it but they killed the boy who Arya was playing with :(

Dave Ballinger

I love your reactions I’d love it if at the end of each episode you could just give some insight into your thoughts about it. Are you enjoying the show? Favourite bits of the episode? Characters you like and don’t like etc?

zahra d Kateregga

when you're highborn, marriage and love are not the same in this world for sure. catelyn and ned got lucky that they were arranged and fell in love. as for the incest, it's too common in this world it's so uncomfortable !!!

Ariana Mitchell

I don’t think Jamie and Cersei would be in trouble because of incest but because she is the king‘s wife and he as a man is allowed to be unfaithful but as a woman you would be in serious trouble for that but yeah fucking your twin brother would also be discussing but at that time incest was not an uncommon thing

Sina Schneider

They didn’t explain it in the first episode, but Bastard literally means a child born out of wedlock. So Jon is literally a bastard. In older times being a Bastard is a very shameful thing. You don’t get your family’s surname or have a right to their lands unless your parent chooses to include you.

Dave Ballinger

you're gonna be gagged by some of the gowns and the wigs. the hair, costuming, and set design really cared, and it shows

Ariana Mitchell

Kind of narcissistic to bang your twin sibling isn’t it? Maybe she loved robert once before the miscarriage but the thing with Jamie started even before her marriage I guess so robert didn’t had a real chance but also was in love with someone else before and couldn’t forget Ned‘s sister

Sina Schneider

jaime and cersei!!! just twin sibling things <3333

Ariana Mitchell

i think he's too early in the series to remember all these names and lore but aye i appreciate it

Ariana Mitchell

Waiting for you to finish your dinner 😂 you shouldn’t tease us like that

Sina Schneider

Hey babe just letting you know that if you pop on subtitles you can see what they’re saying in the Dothraki language 🖤

raven

Brad: „Have I missed something?” - My brain: well… 😘

Sandra

Sansa’s dog, Lady, was adopted by the actress 💕 Also, Khaleesi is Danaerys’ title; her hubby is a Khal.

Michele H.

100% correct. She's also sad that Sansa, her eldest daughter may be married off to the prince. So it's like losing two family members since they have to live at Kings Landing... And be with the Lannisters which in her mind are a den of snakes, according to the message she got from her sister.

Missy S.

Also, quick little tidbit about why Catlyn and the situation she's in with her husband going away and why she's so cold towards Jon Snow. None of this is a spoiler I don't think. Ned Stark is a true noble man, and his honour has always been important to him above all else. Catlyn isn't from the North, but married Ned in an arranged marriage as most nobles in this world do, for political advantage, however she lucked out and her and Ned truly do love eachother. However, years ago, Ned had to travel south to fight in Robert's war against the Targaryen's who were the ruling family at that time. Robert basically started a rebellion because Prince Rhaegar stole his beloved, who also happened to be Ned's little sister Lyana. The Targaryen king also happened to be a batshit insane psychopath, who killed Ned's father when he traveled to the capital to confront the Prince about basically eloping with Lyana. So needless to say Robert lost his shit and started a war, and Ned went with him to fight. Catlyn stayed in the North at that time, and then, when the war was won and after Robert became the new king, Ned returned home, with a bastard son, Jon. He is named snow because bastards from the North are all named Snow. Ned Stark was actually unfaithful, which goes against everything he stands for. However he is also a dutiful and compassionate man, so he brought Jon to be raised in Winterfell because after all he does have Stark blood. But of course, Jon is a constant reminder to Catlyn about her husband's infidelity, which has made her very cold towards him. She's a loving and understanding wife, and after all, Ned was fighting a war and men make bad choices in such times. So she remains the dutiful wife, and her and Ned have repaired their trust, but Jon Snow will never have her love. And now, that Ned has to travel south, its not really the fact she's afraid that Ned may be unfaithful again, but more so that he is travelling to King's Landing, exactly where Ned's own father was murdered. I think of course his past unfaithfulness would be on her mind, but I do believe she is more afraid for his safety

Marceli Guziewicz

So interested to see what you think of the show! I used to be absolutely obsessed with GoT, and got back into the world again cuz of House of the Dragon which is fantastic!

Marceli Guziewicz

Where’s the swarm episodes?🤨

arkilla

Its getting intense already!! Oh so simply, Khal=leader of Dothraki tribe, Khaleesi=Khals wife. I have breathed GOT since 2011, so sorry for spam these seasons. I´m so hyped

Paulina

Can’t wait for next ep!! This show is crazy! So much stuff happens.

Raina H

Yes I meant “In this world” not “works”

Jess M.C

Thanks so much for the extra info and confirming it’s not a spoiler

Jess M.C

Not a spoiler, just GRRM world facts :) good info. Just to add for those new to the series: It depends on where the bastard was born, for example born in the Westerosi north = Snow. But bastards born in Dorne = Sand, Riverlands= Rivers etc.

Paulina

Ooo sorry. Me using names lol

Jess M.C

omggggg I didn't know which one Tyrion was lol

Brad Evans

Khaleesi is her title now that she’s married Khal Drogo

Jess M.C

yay!! so excited for this and hunger games !

Megy123

Other patrons let me know if this is a spoiler and its explained in the show cuz I can’t remember right off the top of my head so Brad check the replies first cuz I don’t wanna ruin it for you but: From what I understand Jon has the last name Snow because he is a bastard. And the last name of the person who is a bastard changes depending on where they are from in this works.

Jess M.C

I just meant his personality … didn’t mean any offence

Jess M.C

grew.... huhhuhhhhh????

Brad Evans

Yeah. Tyrion Lannister grew on me too

Jess M.C

YAY !! I LOVE UR REACTIONS BRAD, BEEN HYPED 4 THIS SINCE YESTERDAYS LOL

tina

Oooo yeah!!!! Thanks for another episode
