that and the fact that dumbledore has absolutely no warmth at all and that we get ONE MEMORY (not even a mention of the Gaunts - wonder where dumby got the ring? Nothing abt the cup so harry has to "sense" it's presence in the LeStrange vault in the movie. When did tom come back and hide the diadem? How did he get the locket? Why do these things matter to him?) Also, harry isn't petrified on the tower and could've rushed in and stopped it but he doesn't. Using petrificus on harry is the only reason draco was able to disarm dumbledore in the books. Because he was using that moment to protect harry. and that you don't even learn Eileen Prince's relation to snape. I mean so many of the sins of the final movies come from no setup but it just makes me so mad.

Definitely, he would understand their relationship better, give Draco some leeway and would definitely love Ron if he read, or listened to, the books. Those are three of the biggest fails for me in the adaptations, HarryXGinny, Draco's redemption and Ron's entire characterization.

Ron always had poor self image, being the baby boy of the family, then having the girl come along who took all the attention, he always felt like a last resort and he couldnt believe he was good enough to play or to get Hermione which is why he fell in with the first girl to give him REAL OBVIOUS signs she liked him. Rupert Grint did amazing with what he was given but they really did Ron dirty in the movies by giving alot of his magical ability and knowledge to Hermione to make her seem stronger and never delving into his true feelings. Its why he was so angry at Harry in 4, because he always felt like the sidekick but felt like Harry had just stopped relying on him for anything and put his own name in and he always felt inferior to the others even though in the books the magic came more effortlessly to him and he often had information the other two didnt and felt comfortable in certain situations where the others didnt. He was my favorite character in the book for that reason and I really think you would love him too if you read the books, he was far from dim.

My biggest gripe with this movie is how Ginny and Harry get together vs how it happened in the books. The books were SO MUCH BETTER. That being said I'm really enjoying watching along with you and I can't wait for the final 2 films!

Guess no one answered this on here yet, but I’ve seen it before on other comments under your reactions, but it seems to be a constant reminder since you keep mentioning it. Draco is actually really good at magic lol. Not sure why you thought he was shit lol. He’s in all the honor classes like Hermione and that’s one of the reasons why he doesn’t like her. He can’t believe that a “mud blood” is a strong and smart witch. Draco didn’t get “good all of the sudden” he was always brilliant at magic. I guess the way they portray draco in the movies was a bit different than the books but I don’t think they portray him being rubbish at magic at all. That’s the only nice thing I will say about Draco cause other than that, he is a complete wanker.

No one answered this yet but the reason why there was dragon blood at Professor Horace’s place was to make it seem it was human blood. The place had to look like it was ransacked and that someone was killed because at that time, death eaters were causing a havoc to muggles and wizards that liked muggles. He also is the potions professor so he probably had dragon’s blood to behind with lol. Every other question was already answered I believe.

I love that you thought that Hermione surprise date to the Christmas party was Draco because I've seen interviews recently where the actors who play Hermione and Draco have always had a little "thing" for each other!! She used to get so excited to shoot with him in the early movies. I think they've always been friends but they've acknowledged deeper feeling throughout their friendship - so damn cute

I'm pretty sure that it was actually Snape's dad who was the muggle. In the books when Hermione was trying to figure out who the Half-Blood Prince was, she found a reference to a witch who had the last name Prince, who was actually Snape's mother. Snape has the last name of his father, a muggle, but his mother's last name was Prince which is why he used that for his nickname.

I don't know if you remember from the previous movies, but Voldemort is actually a half blood. His dad was a muggle. His mom used a love potion on him to trick him in to being with her. It's not in the movies though. He hates muggles because of that. She died after he was born and his muggle dad took off. That's why Voldemort grew up in the orphanage where Dumbledore found him.

Tbh I don’t think that everyone in the film is stupid - I think some things that are the ‘main point’ of other films (i.e who dunnit) isn’t the point of this film. Aka, it’s sort of a given that we all know Draco is doing it, but that isn’t the mystery - the mystery is the intention, motivation, and method for doing so, if you catch my drift. Saw a comment a few above me saying that they kinda feel for Draco in this film, and I fully agree - I think it’s v one-dimensional to view him as ‘the villain’ or bad guy, when actually he’s literally a child that has been ordered to murder someone, or be murdered himself - hence, I’m pretty sure that doesn’t makes him a coward for crying lol. Anyway, glad you liked it! This film is my fav I think (and Prisoner of Askaban), the music and cinematography is so haunting and beautiful

I honestly feel for Draco in this movie. Don't get me wrong, he's a bully and he's definitely not a good person, but he's not evil. He was given an impossible task because his father screwed up so that Voldemort would have an excuse to kill him and probably his entire family. It's so clear that he doesn't want to do it and that he literally can't do it, but he's in an impossible situation with no clear way out. I really like Draco's character because he's actually very complex. Also, when you think about it, Harry and Draco are two sides of the same coin. Draco grew up always being told that he was better than everyone else, whereas Harry was always told that he was worthless. Imagine if Harry had grown up in the wizarding world, where everyone knew his name and praised him from the time that he was a baby. If that had happened then Harry probably would have turned out exactly like Draco, which I think is a very interesting parallel.

Also how could i forget. That ‘creepy fucker’ that’s always with Bellatrix. Is Fenrir Greyback, a warewolf a deatheater, not by his respect for Voldemorts wishes, but because he would have a lot more potential victims, he did not have a dark mark (the tattoo) or was he really accepted as voldemort was prejudice against his lycanthropy. Which makes him even more evil as he has no loyalty to Voldemort, he’s just with him to accomplish his own wants. He commuted an attack that killed 2 muggle children. When he was brought in for questioning at the Ministry of Magic, he pretended to be a homeless muggle and that he was upset and witnessing the death of 2 children. Due to the inadequacy and i’ll maintenance of the Warewolf registry, the Ministry did not know him to be an ACTUAL wolf. Though one member of the ministry, Lyall Lupin, was suspicious and said that he should be held until the next full moon to see if he was, everton thought this was unnecessary and was free to go. He then plotted on his revenge on Lupin. One night he broke into Lyall Lupin‘a sons room and bit the 5 year old, making young remus lupin a warewolf!!!! Yes, that creepy fucker is the one that make Lupin a warewolf :((

Hello Brad. Harry potter geek here. Going to try and answer all of your questions and theories here without spoilers!! The women at the start with snape was Dracos mother, (yes marking Bellatrix his aunt). Voldemort had lost all faith of Lucius, after he failed in the 2nd movie with giving Ginny the diary, he also never looked for the Dark Lord while he was in hiding and told the Ministy he was under the imperius curse (one of the unforgivable curses that makes the person cursed do anything the person casting it asks) and therefore got out of being sent to Azkaban, then he smashed the prophecy and was sent to Azkaban. This is when Voldemort ordered Draco to kill Dumbledore, a near enough impossible task, so that if Draco fails, he has a reason to kill him (this is the plan voldemort had) But if he succeeds then he 1. has dumbledore dead, the most powerful wizard there is. and 2. Draco will have his soul spilt meaning he can’t go to the afterlife and will most likely be sent to Azkaban. He would be HUNTED by everyone. Which is why Narcissa went to Snape, she knows Dumbledore trusts him and the make the vow that if Draco fails, he would do it. Meaning Draco is fine and Dumbledore is still dead, pretty much a loop hole in Voldemorts plan. Also, yes Snape is a half blood, but so is Voldemort!!!! Tom riddles mother (a witch) used a love potion on his father (a muggle) thus made tom riddle. But as he was made through a love potion and not actually genuine love, he lacks empathy and respect. Once the love potion disappeared, as did his father, abandoning him with his mother, who later commuted suicide. He resented his mother for this and saw her as weak. He thought death/dying was a sign of weakness. He also believed for a while that he was a pure blood as he was a descendant from the famous Gaunt family who were rich of magical stature but was infuriated when he found out his magical abilities were from his mother and not his muggle father. He hated his magical status and grew resentment for muggle borns and half blood and wanted nothing but a pure blood society! Thus starting the first wizarding war by killing all muggle borns and killing anyone who went against him. He also as he saw death as a weakness, he wanted to live forver, making SEVEN horcruxs so that should he be ‘killed’, his soul will still exist somewhere!! Hope this helped ◡̈ sorry it’s so long, should have voice noted lol
