i can't rant and rave enough about how good omar (simon) and edvin (wille)'s acting is. their chemistry on-screen is better than any pairing i've ever seen. not to mention it being omar's first acting gig. i loved your reactions to both whole seasons - can't wait to see you react to the third when it eventually comes out. the scene just before wille goes out to speak and simon tells him he loves him is up there with my favourite scenes in the whole series; the fish scene, the ball scene and the closing speech. can't wait to see season 3 - but like others im concerned about the implications of sara going to the police. on face value, it seems excellent - she could redeem herself with simon (which is how she sees it) but doesn't understand the dynamics behind it because she is in the dark. will it cause the chain of events august, alexander, wille and simon know about with the drugs? will it also mean that should august actually face punishment, that wille might not be able to abdicate (which is what he told simon he wanted to do). this could all change though since he was forthcoming in the speech. time will tell, but lets hope we get more than 6 episodes in the third and final season.

The only problem with sara reporting to the police is the fact she has zero idea about august's plan to frame alexander and bust simon for the drugs. so her going to the police could possibly make things worse for simon. hopefully there will be a 3rd season to clear that stuff up. If there isn't a third season though, that also would make a lot of sense. the whole book project they had during this season was sort of a metaphor for simon and wilhelm's situation. and in that book, they also mention that the book ends before you ever really find out what happens, which could POSSIBLY be the case for the series as well.

gays win! also, if you go back to when wille starts to go off script during his speech, and all of the royal people are panicking, watch boris (the therapists) face, he is so proud of and happy for wille for speaking his truth against the royal family. he is such a great character and I’m so glad that wille had someone like that in his corner this season

About Alexander: August has a throw-away line mentioning that the royal court would be forever indebted and appreciative for Alexander taking the fall- so I think it has to do with that (in addition to what everyone else has already said). I think it’s about Alexander having this massive IOU or gaining the court’s love.

there will 100% be a season 3. Netflix nordic have been hinting at it on twitter for weeks and responding to lots of fan comments about it. also, Edvin and Omar are going on jimmy Fallon next week, which leads me to believe that there will be a season 3 announcement following very soon

Maybe Alexander wanted to protect August since it was seeming very possible August would become king instead of Wille? So he’s just trying to guarantee Wille doesn’t become king out of spite? Still a weird move, I agree, but that’s my best guess.

it took a few months before they announced s2 so we could definitely be getting a s3, and this season did better in numbers as well. plus edvin and omar are going on jimmy fallon (!!!) next thursday and that kinda makes me feel like s3 is basically confirmed. like what if they announce s3 on the tonight show thatd be so cool

I think August and Alexander were just bluffing because it makes zero sense for Alexander to take the blame for distributing child pornography, no one in their right mind would agree to that. Besides, any half-decent detective would figure out the timeline and realise pretty soon that Alexander was already suspended and out of school when the video was uploaded. So, they were bluffing because they thought once Wille heard about the possibility of Simon getting in trouble because of the drugs Wille and Simon would decide going to the police was just not worth it anymore because it would bring more harm than good for all parties involved. And that did happen in the end so their reasoning was right.

The whole situation with Alexander is this: August told him that it was Willed who implicated him to protect Simon and that August was the one who stood up for Alexander. Also, August mentioned that since Alexander is a minor, even if he gets convicted for shooting the video (which August is sure he won't because he spoke to his lawyer yadda yadda yadda) he won't get any serious repercussions and also the Royal Court will be thankful to Alexander for basically letting August (Wilhelm's backup) go scot free. So, Alexander's loyalty is now to August who he thinks is the only one who actually stood up for him, protected him, and let him know about what actually happened, while Wille was the one who got him into trouble. And since August reassures him that he won't get into too much trouble for taking the blame, he decided to go ahead with August's crazy plan. Also, Alexander wouldn't get into trouble for "distributing child p*rnography" because there is "no evidence" as to who actually shared the video. (Basically August could just claim that his phone was hacked or make up any bullshit excuse and make it so that he is blameless and Alexander's only crime was invading Wille's privacy and shooting the video, which isn't as serious as sharing the video, apparently). And finally, August is sure that Simon won't even go to the police because he will then show that Simon tried to sell him his father's prescription drugs (that have his father's name on them). So August basically manipulates Alexander into (a) being loyal to him, (b) taking the fall for him which will realistically not affect him in any way (I mean, Alexander did get away scot-free for the drugs incident from last season), and (c) convincing him that none of this will even happen because he will successfully intimidate Simon into not going to the police.
