(I know I’m late but) Also avoiding talking during dialogue is especially important with a series in a foreign language because you can’t rely on your ears to hear the dialogue, you have to read the subtitles which is hard while talking (and while listening for the viewers as well). Luckily for me, Swedish is my native language, but for most people it’s not. I know you don’t want to/can’t pause too much Brad, but maybe you could take the opportunity to share your thoughts when you pause for other reasons?

Flo

ahhh i joined because i thought the final ep would be filmed 😩😩😩

Hi Brad, you missed the conversation in front of Simon's house. Wille told Simon that August is the backup and he might be free to be with him. Also, he said that if Simon reports August to the police, August won't be able to be the backup anymore due to the scandal. (Wille doesn't want August to be reported because he wants to be free it isn't for his family or the scandal) Simon is no longer mad at Wille for letting him decide what to do, but Wille is stressed that if Simon reports, he must be the crown prince. On the other hand, he isn't just a horse for Sara, he was her only friend in season 1. It's probably the only healthy relationship she has in the series. She also has Asperger's and said she gets on better with animals than with people. Worrying about Rousseau is probably the only good thing she did this season.

I agree but I also think that so far, Wilhelm has been so (understandably) caught up in his own emotions that he hasn’t fully owned how much he hurt Simon and how he broke Simon’s trust in him by lying about the video. Simon is angry and hurt, because Wilhelm hasn’t yet shown him that he can regain his trust; also they are both very young and struggling to cope with overwhelming emotions, both of them making bad decisions as a result. Simon is just as much alone as Wilhelm, maybe more so as Wilhelm has Felice. No-one really understands Simon’s feelings for Wilhelm; his friends push him towards Markus, Sara is moving away from her family and towards August and Markus’ agenda is manipulating Simon, not listening to him or genuinely understanding him.

I mean, maybe you (and Wille) are right - maybe nothing would have happened if Simon had known and reported it. But taking Simon's choice away in that matter, not letting HIM make the decisions about the crime that was done against him? Not cool. You don't keep important shit like that from people you love, not if you respect them. Simon is very right to be pissed with Wille for that.

Joseph Carriker

Brad, I always enjoy your reactions, but, hun, you have to press pause and avoid looking away from your screen at crucial moments because Young Royals doesn’t do many ‘you can afford to miss this bit’ moments! It’s very tightly scripted and Lisa has often commented that everything is there for a specific reason. Particularly important in season 2 because there are a LOT of deliberate connections between this season and season 1 which are very significant, especially for Wilhelm and Simon’s characters and relationship. Love you but please don’t miss them by talking! ❤️

Re. Simon's frustration with Wille and the song, I totally understand him. He was supposed to sing a solo at this jubilee which is broadcast in the whole country and, like Felice says, is one of the most watched programmes. That's huge for a teenager esp. one from not such a privileged background. So this great opportunity was taken away from him only bc of his connection to Wille. It just reminded him of everything he has already lost bc of Wille and may potentially lose still. And since he cannot really express his frustrations to the Queen, Wille is the most logical one to lash out at. The only thing I disagree with is his saying their kiss is a mistake but he doesn't; really mean it, it's his anger talking.

Ivalani

u gotta watch skam s3

Katie Polich

After young royals, Skam Norway season 3??😉💕

alexis marquez

You mentioned at the end about Wille not knowing that August was going to be his backup until after he decided to keep August releasing the video a secret. That's definitely true, but I don't think he was trying to use that as the reason he didn't tell Simon. I think after that latest therapy session, he took another look at the whole August being his backup situation and decided it could be a good thing. That's why he mentioned it...not as a way of defending his own secret-keeping actions, but because he wanted Simon to have all the information before he made his choice about whether to go forward with the police. Hopefully that makes sense! Love your reactions Brad and I hope you're doing well. <3

David

that happened

ruby

Brad: “Sara and August make sense” what he means: “They’re both terrible and they deserve each other” 🤣🤣

MikeLey19

That happen

Matthew Dod

the way you can FEEL wille's axiety. the acting is SO good

CAMILA

Yes, yes, 100% yes! I can see where Simon is coming from. As much as Wilhelm's hands are tied, it doesn't change the fact that the Simon was the only one who was clearly visible in the video and because of the speculation that the other guy is the crown prince, the video got way more attention than it ever would have. With Wilhlem denying that it was him, Simon is left alone with a viral video that clearly has his face in it. So, I get it when he is angry, at the Royal Family and by extension, at Wilhelm. This whole season portrays Simon as this confused teen, but the fact is that he has to weigh his anger at the situation in balance with his love for Wilhelm (and the fact that he knows that Wilhelm loves him too). I guess, since we see things more from Wilhelm's perspective in the show, all we are shown is Simon being stubborn or unreasonable.

What Ayub said…. 😂

LLCoolT

I was definitely beginning to get frustrated with Simon as well, so I'm glad things are progressing with them now and that there is some actual communication happening 👏 Sara and August can fuck right off 👏 Can't wait for you to watch the last episode, I think it's a good one.

Facebitch

im glad i read this before watching so now i won't get mad lmao

Katie Holmes

OH MY GOD YES

Citlally Aguilera

After telling Simon that he can let August take over and that they can be free together, you missed the next line where Wille said: 'BUT if you report August I can't be free', 'cause they won't let August take the throne hence Wille will still have to be king. That's why at the end of the episode, after Simon tells Wille that he has to go to the police, he feels sick and anxious and later asks Simon: 'What will happen to us?' because they don't know what the future will hold for them after reporting August.

Sara García

Like some others here already mentioned - when missing some dialogue just go a few seconds back and rewatch. I kinda screamed that at my screen the whole time. "Don't be confused! Go back Brad and rewatch!!" Also I wouldn't mind if you just pause a few seconds for your thoughts on a scene - and then press play again. Take your time, take it all in and then throw your thoughts and feels at us! Love ya 🧡

Uli

Oh I recommend watching the last kissing scene again, I really stopped breathing before they kissed, it was shot so beautifully..Their eyes ❤️🫠

But she didn't mean they will literally never see each other again, just that the future is entirely uncertain and that this may be the last time they are together like this. However, if they remain at the same school, they will never be able to stay away from each other, so...

Ivalani

I agree, Skam is wonderful, probably the best coming-of-age series I've seen. I watched all 4 seasons, but season 3 can stand on its own. I hope you'll watch it someday Brad, it's phenomenal. The episodes are quite short, 20 minutes or so each, it can be binged in one afternoon.

Ivalani

I'm not 100% agreeing with everything Simons says or does, but I do think his POV isn't as well portrayed in this season as it could have been 🥲 I see a lot of people who think he is being unreasonable, but I do think it makes sense that he gets mad at Wille when his solo is taken away. If the video hadn't happened and Wille hadn't denied it, then the royal court wouldn't have to worry about more rumors being spread about them. All of it are reminding him of why he broke up with Wille in the first place, and why he didn't want to be a secret. I also really like the parallel they created when Wille finally admits that August was the one who posted the video. In season 1, the Queen decided not to tell Wille about August to protect him, which really angers Wille when he finds out, but then he goes and does the exact same thing to Simon, claiming he did so to protect him. Simon saying "you're exactly like your mom" is ofc not true but it's also not a complete lie. Whether or not Simon wants to go to the police is not Wille's choice to make, which Wille thankfully realizes in the end ☺️🙏🏻 (Also if Wille hadn't denied the video, the royal court would have had no choice but to be on Wille and Simon's side and go against August)

literally cannot wait for you reaction to ep 6 🤭🤭

Tammy Laight

Ahhhhh I always panic when I see people who's reacting to YR speaking during important dialogues hahaha. But I love you Brad <3 And also speaking of the ending scene, which someone else mentioned, I absolutely love the symbolism with the closed curtains in the very last frame. It's like that they finally got their privacy all for themselves. Lisa have talked about this aswell

You have to react to Skam season 3!

Monica Haggemark

According to the intimacy coordinator, the ending scene is meant for them to feel like "this is not going to work, we are never gonna see each other again, but I want you so much".

Bekki Babineau

Babe you were talking over the dialogue that why you missed the point. At Simons house Willie said that if Simon goes to the police Willie won’t have back up and can’t renounce the throne to be free with Simon!! That’s why he felts so sick in the end.

Rebeka Berga

I think if you go back and watch the part that you missed in the dialogue, it will make more sense! Hahaha! You are too funny! I am just so glad they had a freaking moment of happiness at the end!

Literally Natalie

Hi sweets! Since you've gotten pretty into Young Royals, I'd recommend Skam season 3! It's a Norwegian show and the season focuses on Isak who is closeted and experiences internalized homophobia while falling for a new guy at school. It was the most popular season and 8 other countries have recreated the show :) you would probably love it! If any patrons would like to give it a shot, here's a link for the show and its remakes :) https://sites.google.com/view/alllofskam/home

Mentallyillipino

Good summary of what brad missed! In particular, he missed the part where Wille said that if Simon went to the police, there would be no other option. And although it's true the chances of August being convicted are low, regardless the speculation and bad name such charges would bring on him would prevent the royal family from at least still trying to rely on him as a backup I think. Therefore leaving Wille with no other option but to be Crown Prince and Future King.

Megan Brady

You're so confused because you missed an essential piece of dialogue when Wille is visiting Simon haha. If you think you missed something important, are you able to just go back a bit and watch that part again in your reaction? Or would it mess up your recording? And to also confirm, yes we are happy now they are seemingly together at this point. Hence why Wille asks, 'What will happen to us?' and Simon replies 'I don't know' because they want to be together again but don't know what the future will hold with the reporting of August & Wille's role as Crown Prince etc. It sounds like they want to try at least.

Megan Brady

I know it’s unedited. But for me it would be fine if you would rewind a couple of seconds next time, just so you don’t miss any important dialog 😉

Frances

We are happy Simon and wille are finally communicating amazing

Amy louise

We are very happy, yes!

Ivalani

They are finally communicating and listening to each other ! That's the main thing about this episode and this season. Understanding where they come from, what they want and finding common ground to grow together. I love all those little things reminding us of season 1. The curtain ! Yeah that happened ! Finally ! Brace yourself for the last one Brad and enjoy the ride !

Pauline

I will not breathe if I don’t get more Harry Potter reactions.

Tin Tellmar

you are super confused because you missed the most important line in the episode 😭

carrielou

yes we are happy brad we are so so happy

kate

The little bit of dialogue you missed (when Wille confronts Simon at his house), Wille was saying he could let August take the throne. And be free with Simon. But if Simon goes to the police, there would no longer be that option. Wilhelm would have no choice but to take the throne. So in a sense he’s giving the power to Simon and letting him decide their fate as a couple.

Sarah G

The accent should be on the first vowel. Si’mon, not Simo’n 🤍
