It's funny to me how Steve is so mad about the Father lying to protect anyone but Steve himself didn't tell Shirley about anyone accepting his book money - presumably to protect that relationship.

Madison Corbett

I'm so glad you asked the question. Why do you all have your demons and all went through this shit and you all see the ghosts and visions etc but not one of you ever talks about it or when someone else sees stuff or something strange happens you never go to the obvious answer...THE FUCKING HOUSE!!

Brian Radano

just wna say that I don't mind when you commentate without pausing! it's natural to speculate on what you're watching lol like when I'm watching smth with a friend, especially if it's spooky, we talk to each other about it as it goes like it's really no big deal! it's what makes it social! I think people get way too bent out of shape when it comes to trying to control other peoples' first time viewing experiences. like, I can imagine it would hamper your enjoyment of watching something for the first time if you were self conscious about expressing yourself without someone whining in the comments. like y'all in the comments that continuously complain about it- you're being control freaks. pls go touch grass.

Steve is actually one of my favorite characters. He is very complex and even though he can be frustrating, I don't hate him, I sympathize with him. He is just as confused and traumatized as everyone else. I think his reaction to everything that has happened is actually the most logical.

Erica

I love you brad but you have GOT to pause when your talking. Your missing so much important dialogue and I know you rewatch it later but your missing too much in the moment! Love this reaction as always but please pause!

Nell vanishing as a child is a for shadowing of her becoming a ghost and not being seen whilst being there all the time. The boy in the wheelchair was mentioned by the mum as one of her bedtime stories. Meaning the mum had seen him before. I think Steven is repressing a lot of what he saw as a kid as it would mean that his anger towards his mum was misdirected because she didn't kill herself and making her and Nell out to have mental health issues is a lot easier to comprehend then to admit that you lived in a haunted house. Oh and don't worry about Steven he'll get a good slap in the face soon and forced to admit that ghosts exist and that his sister, mum and dad are not crazy. Also bent bitch.

*Totally Oblivious the whole time Ghost Nell is in the background 3 Seconds Later... "I'm looking for ghosts, guys I'm looking for ghosts" Bahahaha 🤣🤣

I’m the same, when I first watched it I couldn’t stand Shirley’s character but I was immediately drawn into Steve. Theo is also my favourite.

The saying "its not as bad as you think, but it doesn't look like she is sleeeping." is very accurate in my experience. Its also an example of the simplistic but exceptional writing this series occasionally displays. (The rest is exceptionally complex so we need these occasional summations.) My family doesn't do this, but when a friend of mine passed in highschool, I went to his viewing. The last memory I have of him changed, and I didn't need that, but I could see how some might.

I love the way this episode was filmed, there was a 17 minute scene with no cuts which amazed me.

In America, we have a "showing" the night before the funeral where everybody comes by and views the body and gives their condolences to the family. Maybe it's not a custom in Old Briney!

Stephen

When you didn’t notice bent neck Nell in the back of the scene when the dad saw little Nell in the coffin 😂. I was screaming, “LOOK IN THE BACKGROUND BRAD” only for you to say 2 minutes later “I’m looking in the background and not seeing anything” lol

Michelle Garcia

canonically I don’t think Theo is a lesbian but to me she is 😛 and the guy in the closet with her was Shirley’s husband btw

I usually try to ignore when you go off on Steve because he’s one you don’t really get until the end, but he wasn’t saying that she crashed the book signing because it affected him and embarrassed him in front of his fans, it’s because it was so unlike Nell. He was saying that she was acting strangely, it’s what all the siblings eventually get to, that in the last couple of months Nell wasn’t acting like herself, she was off her medication and spiralling. It’s why her and Theo were fighting as well. You’ll notice that she didn’t call Theo that day, she called Steve and Shirley because I don’t think Theo and Nell talked after their falling out in LA when Nell wanted Theo to use her powers to feel Arthur. Regardless of what you feel about Steve, Nell was his sister, he obviously loved her deeply. They are a family who has been dealing with confusion and loss since they were kids. And if you’re frustrated that you don’t know what happened to their mom, imagine how the kids feel. Their father hasn’t explained what happened that night or how their mom died to any of them. Steve is rightfully upset and it makes sense that he’d rationalize their experience down to mental health. It’s easier to digest than ghosts or a haunting but really he’s just deeply in denial about what happened in his childhood and has built up so many walls to keep people out.

i been waitin for this one !!!! fun fact is that all the actors had to rehearse this episode like a play since the takes were so long. i believe the longest shot is around 17 mins but I could be wrong on that. either way, the director and actors ate this episode up

Ariana Mitchell

This episode is amazing!! The one fakes are sooo impressive to me. If you are into film, I recommend watching this behind the scenes https://youtu.be/Gkhz2W2Gk4g

Ok I HAVE to say it, for the last episode, you NEED to stay as quite as possible whilst their speaking because every bit of their dialogue is SOOOO important and theres so many tiny little details. I know it's hard cause it's a reaction 😂😂 but it's just super necessary for the last one, there's a LOT that you can miss particularly in that episode 💜✌️

Tamara Wilson

Exactly. This was the most emotional episode to me and no matter how many reactions I watch to this series, I still tear up at the end when Nell says, “I was here the whole time and none of you could see me.” Even her ghost appearing next to the fallen casket didn’t scare me, it made me sad. Unfortunately I didn’t get so emotional during Brad’s reaction because he was talking over Baby Nell speaking and he was more freaked out at how “gross” her ghost looked. I love Brad’s reactions but I do wish he would listen more instead of jumping to conclusions and going on tangent rants while the characters are speaking. He ends up missing a lot (despite having the earbuds in). He also misses the ghosts because he’s either talking or looking at himself in the camera. He does pick up on key moments but I hope in the upcoming episodes he pays more attention to the dialogue and details in each scene because it gets more intense and questions start to get answered. Also I get that some of the monologues can be a bit verbose but Mike Flannigan doesn’t add them for no reason — they add to the characters’ backstory and give insight into how they think, likely answering questions you might have.

This episode is my favourite. I just love how intimate the atmosphere feels because of the one-take long scenes

Indre Duobaite

I really hope Steve gets more like likeable, I have a like/hate relationship with him. There's deffo way more to him I think xx

Hannah Bond

The ending to this one always gets me 😭 You go into this show thinking you’re just going to get scared, but then you realize it’s mainly about childhood trauma 🙃🥲

Jeff Cabrera

You are pumping these out!! 👏🏾

Itss_NattyJ

That was my favourite episode! The long takes are beautifully made 🖤

Amélie Desrochers

The editing on this episode of the series and the way it was shot is absolutely incredible.

Jaime Card

Probably my favorite episode of the show, the acting, the editing, and the long takes are immaculate!
