And the scene after eleven smashed billy through the wall Millie Bobby brown actually collapsed so mikes reaction when he looks to the side is because he didn’t expect it. She puts so much into the character. This series is amazing and series 4 gets even better!!! Xxxx love you lots xxxx

2022-07-27 14:20:55 +0000 UTCDespite the show being surrounded by myth and fantisy the fact the show touches on some very real topics from class disparety and trhe sexism of the time. Back then and even now women's voices were normaly igored talked over or dismissed. Women in the work place had very few roles, their main role was to look pretty and do what the men asked. It was very rare for a woman to have any real say in what went on those who did were labled as power hungry along with other derogitive terms yet men were prased for the same drive. Their argument Nancy and Jonathon's show how both are trying to navigate the work world with two very different chanllanges. For Nancy it's the rampant sexism and for Jonathon it's the classsm. Both trying to prove themselves for two totally different reasons. The argument highlights that whilst they are mature neither of them fully understand the other's troubles. As Jonathon pointed out Nancy dose'nt struggle finantually whilst Jonathon dose. Jonathon isnt ridiculed for his ideas and suggestions where Nancy is. Women were only ever seen as mothers and house keepers nothing more nothing less. The fact that in recent times women have lost even more power in a more intermate nature shows set in this time and even earlier show how much women had to fight for and still do.

Nancy was in the wrong to keep pursuing something she knew might get them fired while Jonathan was clearly uncomfortable, and Jonathan was wrong for not considering maybe she was onto something. Just because Nancy was right doesn't mean he was necessarily wrong, I like complex discussions like this and also appreciate Jancy's difficulties because it's a real relationship

2022-07-27 04:50:38 +0000 UTCI always thought the argument scene between Jonathan and Nancy was quite interesting in a social pov – Nancy doesn’t know what’s like to struggle financially, Jonathan doesn’t know what’s like to be a woman; neither is to blame for those things and still those are deeply rooted issues in society, even (and specially) back then. As Autumn pointed out above, they were both insensitive to each other – but then again, their characters are supposed to be quite young so I still feel for both of them.

Usually once a show goes downhill it continues that way, but this show still managed to keep me engaged enough to come back for season 4 and (imo) they managed to make season 4 really freaking good instead of it getting worse.

I know a lot of people dislike season 3 Hopper but I think his more cartoonish aggression in this season makes sense after everything they've all gone through and his fear of being alone

And he has no idea how hard it was for her as a woman working there. They both needed to listen more to each other and sympathize with what they're BOTH feeling.

Nancy was being mistreated and disrespected in the workplace as so many woman are, especially back then which is something Jonathan wouldn't understand, but Jonathan needed that job since he partially supports his family and will need to pay for college and other future things himself unlike Nancy. Both were being kind of insensitive to each other.
