Not gonna lie, I'm having a bit of an emotional breakdown coloring the mermaid, as I feel very blind for some reason. So worst case I might not finish coloring the mermaid cgs and just post the sketched or base colored in the demo. I think tbh might even have to change course entirely and change to another VN theme altogether because I don't think I'm capable of finishing Mark of A Beloved unless I had at least 5 people helping me like in Amplitude. I think Mark of A beloved is too ambitious to do alone. I thought I could but now realistically I cannot after doing the art and haven't even done the maps, etc like in Amplitude .
I do have another story that is much simpler than MoAB that can use some of its assets and GUI though so I think I will shift to that and scrap Mark of A Beloved or at least wait until my team is more available.
Question is though should I actually release the Mark of A Beloved's demo or just releaser the new other plot, Elysium.
Elysium's plot is more simple. About 'witches' or those with magical abilities and a royal magical bloodline that needs the main character's aid, Nier, to help find out why the royal bloodline is being hunted and dying out. Focusing on coming of age themes, and it uses the witch sketches I've shown here before (see attachments)
It has a total of 6 main cast and 8 supporting cast. A total of 14 sprites and roles. The same amount of Lingering characters. That's a lot more doable than Mark of A Beloved 25 cast x2 storylines since there are two main character POVs.
They both challenge the concept of love, however MoAB is more free roam. Following either the male or female MC POV only and branching to many endings, storylines and events and change based on which MC you choose, your stats, quests, etc. Elysium has a more Lingering like structure, change PoVs to know the characters more but follow one main plotline, the male MC, Nier. I might still be able to put option based on the MC's developed personality but free roam and complex quests is a no no.
I realized this is sudden but I got exhausted with my day jobs and find it a losing battle to continue MoAB. I do hope to have MoAB as an open project though, hoping I can do it but only if I have at least 5 years of time, and I'm not sure it is wise to take on such a project that large alone. I was too naive to think just because I did Amplitude, I could recreate that alone.
Let me know your inputs on this , I'm more than happy to hear what you think. Thank you
