Howdy~
Anyone else suffering from the heat? Anyway, the development of 0.5 is going slowly - no two ways about it. I've had quite busy couple of weeks lately, and it almost felt like everything in the universe wanted to prevent me from working on Serial:Code. Nonetheless, progress is definitely being made.
As of right now, the implementation of the proofread script provided by volf3n is mostly finished. I'll just have to give it a general once-over to see if everything's in order and working. Furthermore, I have designed the majority of the Armitage Academy core locations, and I'm almost done with character design.
I'll admit I might have underestimated how much work Armitage Academy still is. I've been ocasionally working on it in the background since 0.2b, yet now that I'm actually faced with implementing it, it's still a pretty time consuming endeavor.
Hopefully the final product will be worth the wait.
I'd also like to introduce a couple of new things that have been missing from the game, such as the ability for enemies to carry lethal weaponry. While that sounds like a simple feature to implement, it's anything but. I'll keep you folks posted on the status of this particular feature, but to be cautious don't expect it to arrive with 0.5.
The last topic I'd like to touch on is work-life balance. Do you have it? 'Cause I don't. I've been sort of struggling with finding the right balance between my day job, my personal life, my mental health, and this project. To be honest, it's not easy to juggle so many responsibilities at once, at least for me personally. It's a process that I'm still trying to figure out. Let me just say I'm very grateful for all your support and patience. You folks rock. ♥
