Simba WG comic (Working title)
Added 2022-06-02 16:08:08 +0000 UTCHello everyone,
Hope you're doing well. As I mentioned on my previous update, I plan to draw a Simba weight gain comic throughout the months of June and July. As promised, here I want to share with you the outline of the story, as I move forward on storyboarding the whole thing.
Page 1
We start on a extreme wide shot of the savanna with Pride Rock in the center. Simba is atop Pride Rock surveying his kingdom. Timon and Pumbaa by his side. Simba notices a streak of smoke in the sky, then we see the object crash somewhere in the savanna. He asks T&P to accompany him to check out what that object was. They reach the crash site. The strange object is a cargo plane that crashed.

The group comes closer to investigate the strange wreckage. The crew is nowhere to be found (probably parachuted to safety.) Simba notices a few drops of a strange liquid dripping from a broken container. He comes closer and licks whatever drops are left. Simba likes the flavour, but there is no more liquid left elsewhere. As they continue to explore the wreckage, we notice that Simba's belly is bloating a bit. He starts having a "funny feeling", as we notice his belly is starting to reach the ground. T&P turn around but we only see them starting to get covered by a growing shadow.
Page 3
Through close-up vignettes, we see Simba's different body parts expand and fill up with fat, until he reaches a massive size.
Page 4
(Full page spread) The growing has stopped and we see how big Simba got. Probably the size of a small hill or big enough to rival Pride Rock. Timon & Pumbaa, look up at their friend in awe and confusion at what just happened. Close up of Simba's bloated face, starting to sink in it's own blubber and mane.
For the moment that's the main outline of the story. It might get some tweaks here and there while I draw, so it better fits the panels. I want to be as transparent as possible throughout this process since it's the first time for me to actually attempt a comic. I've done a few sequences in the past, but telling an actual story like this is in a whole new ballpark. Expect visual updates, over the course of next week.
Thanks again for sticking with me, and hope you enjoy what's in store for these next months. Any comments are appreciated. Take care!
