Sketches - Stitch and Alex
Added 2021-03-08 19:34:11 +0000 UTCWanted to share some cleaned up sketches of some personal drawings I've been working on apart from commissions. In both cases the ideas came from Drawpile sessions with a friend.
The Stitch one came from explaining a friend how I stack shapes to create body types. Thought it would be nice to use a frame from the Frenchfry episode as reference but adjusting the general shape to avoid it just being a sphere. Took that initial idea and reworked it. I think you can actually feel the weight in that one. Also really liked how the huge hands look, might use them in the future too. And before anyone asks, yes I'm planning an alt with him wearing that hula shirt.
Alex is another story. It was also drawn during a Drawpile session, but started out as a more improvisational sketch. As I was working it, don't know why, I saw Alex in there, so then added the tail and the general idea of his mane. It's funny how this sketch is really tiny: It's 320 by 280 pixels, yet able to convey the general body language. Still have to detail some parts of it, and add Marty, Gloria and Melman for scale reference.
