Possible spoiler(not sure) just want to point out that I'm pretty sure the other lapis weren't as strong as our lapis was because they are probably era 2 lapis. In Steven universe Peridot mentions era 2 gems are made to be weaker due to dwindling resources. and if i remember correctly gems are made from the essence of the diamonds, so that means that the limited resources was because they could no longer get Pink diamonds essence. don't remember if that was explained in the show or not so i don't know if they is a spoiler.
