"It doesn't seem like pink's character to do this"......she had 6 thousand years to develop and grow as gems hadn't before. To her she treated things nicely.....but they were still things to her. Spinel at that point was a toy that was reminding her too much of her childhood so she put it in the toy chest and left it there. She probably did forget about Spinel at one point between the war and what not because she started the rebellion pretty early on since she was among them during the first few quartz soldiers creation.

2025-10-14 09:43:08 +0000 UTC26:15 You are so on the dot cause I watched the first episode of steven universe the first time it ever aired and that was it for 11 years of my life and more ofc,I grew too but, Steven universe it did even more, I adored this show I still do I knew anything and everything I never missed an episode the whole time it aired it means so much to me it's not even funny lol<3,I remember when the movie was announced I LOST it cause DUH STEVEN UNIVERSE MOVIE!?!? AWESOME WHOOO,no seriously though I love this show and your reactions never change queen<3

She realized the diamonds gave her spinel the same reason parents give a hyper active child a new toy, to distract her and get her to leave them alone and out of their way. Spinel had no idea she was being used, all she wanted was to love Pink and make her happy- for Pink to love her too. Pink broke her heart (almost literally), she promised sheβd come back and never did- Spinel had no idea Pink was gone for good until 6,000 years had past- and subsequently found out she was abandoned, replaced, and Pink was gone. This is fresh trauma and pain.

2025-08-13 00:45:17 +0000 UTCI want to start this off by saying I understand if you don't vibe with Spinel's story and I do appreciate that you don't put on a fake smile when it is something you don't like or care for. But for me, as someone who is Autistic and attached myself to people that showed me friendship, Her song hits me very hard and I can't listen to it without crying. Seeing other people effortlessly form friendships and then me attempting to copy it "is this how it works? Am I doing this right?" Really hits. Also due to me being Autistic and not knowing back then I didnβt really mask at all so I often got pity friends which when they finally decide to leave you after so long and leading me on thinking that they are your truest friends then just ghosting you when they decide it is time to move on with their life without you, hurts so much worse than the people that leave after a year. For me this was friends that I had since kindergarten, being friends with me until we graduated, and then ghosting me for years, I still havent talked to them and I've been out of highschool for almost a decade at this point. I know her personality is annoying, overwhelming, and suffocating, but as a kid I was a lot like that too since I didn't have anyone telling me how I'm supposed to act around friends. Sorry for the long rant, I just wanted to give another perspective for you π

2025-08-09 17:55:58 +0000 UTCI see the relationship between spinel and the diamonds as akin to a dead person's best friend and parents becoming close like family after their mutual loss, able to support eachother after the same heartbreak and finding solace in eachother's company, a way for each of them to keep their lost loved one's memory alive while soothing the empty spot left in their lives, but not outright *relplacing* their loved one, yknow? It doesnt HAVE to be toxic if they each have changed, and tho neither group is miraculously changed into perfectly well adjusted people, they each HAVE changed, the diamonds with relinquishing their control over their colonies and steven as well, and spinel being able to face and challenge the severe trust issues that pink instilled into her by opening up to someone else, without the expectation of betrayal. It feels odd at first but honestly the more thought you give it, the more it makes sense for them to be drawn together by their mutual deep connection and loss of pink, a major thing that they can all relate to

Its an allegory specifically to physically represent interpersonal relationships, like how you can love someone platonically or romantically. So best to change that wiring in ur head now xD its not actually weird, unless you wanna call any steven/gem fusion pedophilia or predatory too

Zach Callison, Steven's voice actor, was already in his early 20s by the end of the series, he's just got a great falsetto range, and vocal flexibility to keep doing the younger voice that long.

2025-08-08 01:50:05 +0000 UTCTo be fair, the gem position seems likely to only be changed if Spinel were to poof again, since it's heavily implied that when the weight of everything hit her after Steven's broadcast, she poofed from the emotional & mental strain of the betrayal/misunderstanding that left her waiting 6000 years for nothing.
