Great episode “It’s Christmas Data frown”

I’ve often joked that the only reason people join Starfleet is so they don’t have to wear civilian clothing.

The Vader button. I always chalked it up to because they’re about to evolve into Godlike beings. They’re technology is a bit more advanced with whatever it is they used on the Enterprise..

Love the tag at the end!

Noticed there was no video including the patron takes etc post discussion for YouTube last week (tin man+captains holiday)
For those who still primarily watch on YouTube, maybe revert to including the takes for trek at the end of discussions? The one per week of both episodes together in a 5th video each week worked great too.
Note - meant as positive constructive comment :)

And where John was kept at first was essentially Intensive Care.

That room where Dr. Crusher is working with John IS part of Sick Bay. Sick Bay is actually around the size of a small hospital, but we only ever see that one part of it, which is essentially the Emergency Room.

Why? So that the episode where Data meets Santa falls on the week of Christmas?

I don't think my opinion of this episode was too different from their's. It's not so good you'll want to watch it again and not so bad you remember it. In other words, it's forgettable.

I didn’t think it was weird at all, the talk wasn’t even sexual in nature. Clearly Wesley just wanted the best for his mom

About Wesley discussing his mom's love life...I don't know. They lost Jack a long time ago, it was only them while Wes was growing up. They spent a lot of time together and talked about all kinds of things. Sexual mores are obviously a lot looser in the 24th century (thanks Gene), and presumably the "taboo subjects" list is a lot different. Wes is virtually an adult and knows Beverly better than anyone save maybe Picard. I don't think the conversation was necessarily out of bounds.

The glowing effect worked on the OG SD version, but the onesie always looked awful.

Wait til they find out Season 3 is just another clip show and we've been trolling them.

I must protest, that was NOT a “lazy green screen suit”…it was a “lazy WHITE suit”, totally different and much worse :)
Onwards to 3x26…here we go!

Remember that in Hollow Pursuits, he was doing a stint in Engineering to help out. I figure he rotates through different departments to learn all aspects of the ship's functions.

It did. A lot of problems in the show got plastered over with the horrible SD videotape look.

Mark LaMura, who played John, was best known for his role on the soap opera "All My Children", where he played the brother of Susan Lucci's iconic diva character, Erica Kane. He was quite effective as a struggling cocaine addict, a far cry from this mellow John Doe.

No. It always looked like last frozen chicken in Tesco's, even on the portable set in my kitchen.

I did not like John's white onesie outfit. As a gay man, I appreciate a good "moose knuckle," but this seemed to show a bit too much of the twig and berries.

I'm sure that suit probably looked better on a 90s analogue TV.

Remember that Wesley has a field commission thus on the Enterprise he's an Ensign, but to Starfleet he's still a nobody who failed the entrance exam.
Also, just my 2 cents after looking at a calendar, but if I were you I'd take all of August off TNG and reconvene in September.

Im sure as an ensign Wesley had other work, odd jobs etc, Prob was cleaning the holodeck bio filter or something like that.
