The mistakes in your theory crafting would be cleared up pretty quick if you knew what a palanquin is 😂 Basically a big fancy chair carried around by servants in historic times (though those we see here appear to have legs, so they can move themselves.) The reason Steven made the connection to Pink Diamond is because palanquins are associated with royalty!

2025-04-13 06:13:02 +0000 UTC16:52 a theory I have is that the reason Garnet kept being a fusion a secret from him for so long was because of this, of how upset Steven was when she unfused. She had no idea it was just because babies have no object permanence (why peek a boo works on babies), she just didn’t want to make him upset again. She wanted to wait till his 14th birthday not just as a surprise, but by that point he had seen and come to understand fusion- he even fused himself! She wanted to be sure he understood fusion before she ever unfused in front him again.
