2025-03-02 21:05:01 +0000 UTCRewatching the show really makes me appreciate the filler episodes. SU just has this wonderful ambience and vibes to it that really gets to shine in these episodes! But back when the show aired, I was extremely frustrated with them as well lol. Not because I found the episodes bad, but because we'd wait literal years (almost), only to be met with more filler episodes, when we were so desperate for answers :') I especially hated them when they were snuck in the middle of arcs. Being a SU fan was really hard due to the insane hiatuses, and the fillers only contributed to that lol- But on the other hand, all the waiting kinda helped to build up the amazing community, due to all the theories and fan content that had the time to spring up between :p

2025-03-02 20:56:01 +0000 UTCYep, there's a ton of references to anime/manga throughout the series but this episode and the 2 before it (beach city drift & restaurant wars) were absolutely full of them. Even the title of this episode was a direct nod to anime (there's a classic called Kiki's Delivery Service). A little bit of a tangent but some of these references in the series actually get pretty dark like the landscape of the Kindergarten and Amethyst saying her hole in the wall was perfectly her size - borrowed imagery/concepts from Junji Ito's horror manga short story, "The Enigma of Amigara Fault".

We know blue diamond was on earth due to the Ruby/sapphire origin episode and Rose attacked. Did blue diamond get killed by the rebellion. Assuming diamonds are proportionally rare then maybe there are only the four in existence. Where they friends, colleagues or family? The light/song thing centi described sounds like a WMD to me that shattered the rebellions minds on possibly a global scale. If the rebellion killed blue on earth then maybe the hatred yellow seems to have for the planet is more relatable like destroying a house your friend/sister/daughter was killed in.
