Sure its not the original SU we started with but, in my opinion, that is the whole point, he's grown up now just like everyone who watched SU from its first aired episode. Plus as someone with childhood trauma I have never felt more seen by any show anywhere ever and that includes the original SU .

Amethyst and Jasper are both different colors of Quartz - purple and orange respectively. Rose Quartz is pink colored quartz. So all three are different colors of the same type of rock. I refer to the rocks, not the characters. (Technically jasper can also be red, yellow, or green - the specific criteria is that it contains iron oxide, ie rust, which is typically orange or red).
