Steven Universe Spoiler Warning
Added 2025-01-15 15:43:23 +0000 UTCHey folks, so I've been told by my moderators to no longer read the comments on Patreon of my Steven Universe videos because apparently people are posting spoilers or hinting strongly at things to come.
This sucks, because I do love reading through and engaging with the occassional comment. Since mods cannot remove comments on this site, and I cannot take the chance of being spoiled I will no longer be engaging with the comments on this platform.
So make sure you copy and paste your comments into the Youtube videos when they drop, and make sure to watch the Youtube video again while you're there to help the algo :D even if you just have it sitting on mute it helps LOL.

Not as bad but i also get irked by the constant comments like… “what you need to understand is [headcanon]” or “oh silly reactor doesn’t understand that [thing that will be explained next episode]” or “My personal take is [word for word dialogue from later season] but that’s just me”

I don’t get why they do it considering the idea is to relive the experience of watching the show for the first time. I get being excited, but it’s like people don’t have any will power anymore. They ruin it for everyone.

Not with SU, though, since I'm watching it here for the first time (except maybe by making a joke fake spoiler that turns out to be sort of true).

2025-01-16 13:25:17 +0000 UTCIt is espesally bad for Mosco. We had time to sit on stuff and let things sink in (in the past years since the show ended), but she is going in completly blind. It is enough that Elijah has to be extremly careful not to spoil stuff, we shouldn't make Mosco's experience of it diminished by (accidentally or not) spoilt big or small (but important) things for her.

They've been reaching out to people in the discord who they recognise and asking them to remove / edit their comments here but a lot of people aren't in the discord and they have no way of contacting them except to reply to the comment asking them remove them :')

Sorry to hear about the change, but thank you for keeping up moderated engagement over at YT. I definitely still watch your YT videos or at the very least play them for views/support and I'm sure many if not most of us do too.

2025-01-15 19:47:25 +0000 UTChinting in particular has been a big problem, because it draws moscos attention to things she might not otherwise notice and is not meant to notice yet. People think hints are harmless, but they very much are not. Don't ask her to pay attention to this or that, don't draw attention to foreshadowing. Just let mosco figure things out on her own. If I'm watching a movie and you tell me you loved the twist, I'll spend the entire movie looking for hints rather than just letting it happen organically. People need to take that kind of stuff to the discord, where spoiler tags are a thing and where we don't risk ruining things for mosco.

Unless mods want to really crack down, I'd just stay away from the comments here in general, at least without the mods vetting what you see first.

At least untill you get to THAT episode. Which isn't for quite a while but I'm sure most fans who seen it would know that episode I'm talking about

The reactor doesn't want to know! It ruins the experience! You don't get bonus points for having seen the show first! If anything, it just pisses the reactor off! Case in point! I've heard of reactors dropping whole series because the spoilers wouldn't stop. I hope you remain spoiler free from now until the end!

It sucks that we can't really comment on the associated Patreon videos anymore now with our jokes and fake spoilers, but I'd rather that than have something inadvertently spoiled for you.
