HE DID WHAT!?!

Helluva Boss s2 ep11 Mastermind

About Satan having half a brain, I don’t really think the Sin of Wrath cares about Stolas’ dilemma. He did say even Stolas is small time compared to him. So if someone wants his power, sure just get out of my court room.

This hell is lawful evil. Everyone who just follows order - even the assasin - can go free. As long as you do as you are told, anything goes.

Definitively feels like Lucifer *has* to make an appearance.. Don't understand how his absence can continue indefinetely, its becoming defeaning to say the least lol

Wyrx

*all of this of course is contingent on my memory of lucifer creating hell being accurate...i should probably double check that

iirc Lucifer created hell, so it stands to reason the sins were created in hell either when it was created, or when he gave the apple to eve (given hazbin treats it as a sort of pandora's box situation) either one would have happened before Lucifer fell. So, in that sense, Satan would technically be right, he's not older than Lucifer, but he existed in hell during a time where Lucifer was still in heaven, so he see's himself as it's first ruler (even if, as it's creator Lucifer was always above satan's rule) It's also worth noting that the day this episode was uploaded Viv posted to twitter explicitly clarifying that Satan is wrong when he says he predates Lucifer. Whether he's lying or simply doesn't know Lucifer created hell, is up for interpretation.

yeah, that's kind of my take, he's shown to something of the judge of hell (equating the justice system of hell to the concept of wrath, which I rather like) which leaves him somewhat removed from it all. He's see's himself as an outside observer, with no stake in what happens to any of them.

This song is an absolute masterpiece in the story telling of Stolitz. The first part of the song is very reminiscent of pilote Stolas : all mighty, condescending, plotting in the dark, very vilainous Disney vibes musically (staccatos and play in minor key especially), and visually (theatric set, black and red theme reminiscent of Stolas's eldritch form, Stolas hiding his face behind his cape with a devilish grin, making big hand gestures - very Frollo Hunchback of Notre-Dame like I feel). This version of Stolas is the one Blitz saw first (not without reason) : so high above him, only seeing him as means to an end. In the second part, we leave the grand theatric set from the first part for Stolas's inner place, all stars, lakes and deep blue. This landscape is the one from Look my way, except this time, Blitz is there, and red finds its place within all this blue. The last duet they had, they didn't have together, and showed how not on the same page they were; now they sing in tune. This part of the song is them seeing each other through the facade, and the genuinety of their feelings - mostly Blitz though. The third part is a parallel to Truth Seekers, yet the conclusion is very different. The feathers were there in Blitz's hallucination, yet they were golden and suffocating him ; here they are yellow as light, and they're just floating around : Blitz's new perception of Stolas makes him see intimacy and feelings, the things he's so afraid of, in a whole new perspective : something that's not to struggle against, something's that just there, soft and beautiful. In Truth seekers, Blitz was in chains, and he resented them because Stolas pulled them to get him closer; now, he's in chains, and resents them because they prevent him from getting closer to Stolas. In Ozzie's, Stolas hid himself behind the menu when put on the spot by one deadly sin, now he's proclaiming his love in a court with six of them and the Goetias, litteraly coming to the light - which is a theme with him in this last part of the song, both with the feathers and his line "you're my light", clashing with the darkness of the first part. Though that scene didn't happen in the court for everyone else to see, it symbolically happened in their dynamic (though Blitz is the one who saw most of it, since Stolas still had his back turned on him for most of the time). Stolitz nation we are so back (at least for now, knowing this two drama will follow)

We know all the sins now. Belphegor got name-dropped by Bee in her ep and Levi (athan) is the sin of envy. I also can't be the only one who wants to hear more of Satan singing 'cause he killed the end of that song.

prediction, Octavia learns it was all Stella and shows off she has more power then Stolas ever had

Omegasigma

Okay well there's a LOT to talk about in this episode but I'm going to assume everyone else has covered it... so... I'm just gonna say.... I LOVE Stella's voice so much 😭 I have no idea why I just love it so much

Alp

If luci or Charlie was there there thing would go way more differently

Greg Baisley

I think it's less that Satan doesn't see what's going on, and more that he doesn't fuckin' care what they do to each other as long as it doesn't affect him. "Let them play their little games," he's thinking. "I'm still on top."

David Johnson

Yeah, like all mythology everything's a bit mix-and-match, but as I understand it, in at least one one version of the myth, Hell has been around since there were people, and Satan was already running the place. Then, when Lucifer rebelled, he was cast into Hell and told to take over.

So, were sins here before the fall of Lucifer? Or at least, Satan was here... I liked the headcanon that sins were also angels who argued for the non-evil nature of their "sins" and got fallen, but it doesn’t seem to be the way Vivienne sees this. It could have been interesting though, as it would have reinforced the threat looming over Emily.

So many little details in this episode, I'm going to need to rewatch it a few times I think. Love that there is a duck next to Lucifer's "BRB" note, and that the sponge that Blitz uses on Stolas is horse-shaped!

Albedo12

Yup. We know that Stolas loves words!

Albedo12

Honestly i think Stolas will be perfect as either a sectary or just a guy dedicated to the research. The team can use one of them, especially if they expand. Luna can either stay a secretary or go into the field. She's damn good at it. And o my god I just remembered blitz said he might hire stoles one day.

STOLAS: You're my light! BLITZØ: You're my heart! ME: *sobs uncontrollably*

Albedo12

Funny thing is andeouphus or peacock guy when he says that thing about lesser demons i have once insult that would feel like salt in a wound haha "you sound like and angel"

LupinDuPaon

I agree that this episode stands above the rest. Usually I look to helluva boss as a fun show to sit back and relax and turn my brain off even when it's an emotional episode. This got my brain fully firing similar to how Hazbin does. And that doesn't mean Helluva boss was bad before this. Just a different type of show and one I dont usually go for but had enough charm to get me in with me already enjoying hazbin

Suplee215

I know right?! Bee said he was β€œhot as Hell!” I get it now. πŸ₯΅

Satan giving me heavy Bi-panic.

One of my favorite little details is that when Mammon is hitting on Leviathan, one of her heads seems into it but the other just looks annoyed.

A Magic Duck

πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ I like that ending 😊
