2024-11-22 01:15:51 +0000 UTCI have a soft spot for Winter Forecast. Sugar and crew did such an amazing job creating scenes that you could feel. The end of that episode with Connie quietly sneaking into the living room to watch the snow with Steven... it reminds me of so many winter nights in the house I grew up in. The muffled sound of the wind outside. The cold radiating off the glass. Everyone else asleep. Just sitting there in quiet awe of the beauty of it all. Every time I watch this episode I'm transported back to nights like that.

2024-11-21 23:45:58 +0000 UTCI find it a little surprising that we get more info about Garnet's future vision so soon after it is revealed - not like this show to deliver on a mystery so quickly! What do we learn? 1) It's pretty much instantaneous - no time seems to have passed when Steven returns to reality. 2) You *live* through the possible futures (as opposed to, say, viewing them from an outside perspective) which has the potential to be pretty messed up / traumatic. How do we know we are not still experiencing a possible future that Steven will back out of, some episodes down the line? Also, we get a fine example of what GabGab was commenting on for the previous episode - we almost never leave Steven's perspective. Only in one possible path does Steven find out that the Gems have decided to use the shooting star to destroy the main warp pads. Who knows what else the Gems are up to?

Also that Gem is referred to as a 'Blue Topaz' which is why it's so big. winter forecast: the shooting star is once again in this episode, we saw it in 'monster buddies' and the transfer of powers never gets explained unfortunately. But it's cool how this isn't a one off winter special, as it continues in the following episode.
