Vox Machina s3 ep10 To the Ends of the World

TLDR: Keyleth's mistrust and rage are understandable, but her anger at the team is misdirected. They are all doing the best they could with what they were handed. No one really trusted Riashan, but Keyleyth didn't have another solution to offer. Raishans info was the only thing they could act on after almost getting offed by Thordak and Vorugal in Emon. Keyleth is Right in a way. The decision came down to do we fight one dragon or two. She is begging the team to support her but she forgets they DID support her, SHE declared when Riashan first appeared that there would be NO deal, unilaterally, and the WHOLE team backed her, didn't argue with her infront of Raishan. They ALL understand her desire for vengance, BUT to completely reject her information and deal could have spelled disaster for Whitestone had Raishan told Thordak where it was hidden (as we see after they get back from the north). No one in the team says her feelings on it don't matter they are simply discussing the options, but that they would even consider, even temporarily allying with Raishan is so offensive to Keyleth that she Storms off. Storming off is not a great way to get people to consider your point of view. Every time she brings up Riashan it is with nothing but Anger. Her reasons are sound, and no one said they couldn't kill Raishan after . Everyone is just trying to figure out their best odds to survive this thing. And then EVERY TIME something goes wrong Keyleth is the first to speak up and she ALWAYS blames Raishan. Anna gets the vestige before them - Raishans fault -Even though Riashan WARNED them someone else was hunting the vestige and time was of the essence, they all went to Emon instead to spy on Thordak. They get trapped by Thordak and Raishan comes to help them - You betrayed us and told them we were coming - BUT no one but Vox Machina made the decision to do that. When they get caught in Marquet - Ripley killed your friend and is probably working with Raishan (which there is no real evidence for) It's a bit like the boy who cried wolf. She continuously blames Riashan for things going wrong, and she offers NO other alteranative for how to deal with her. Raishan knows their base of operations well, who knows how long she was disguised as Yennen. Percy has a duty to defend Whitestone along with his sister, Raishan as the information and power to Destroy it. They loyalty Keyleth has for the Ashari is the same Loyalty that Percy and Cassandra have to the defencless people of Whitestone. they have to protect them at all costs as best as they can, even if it means a temporary alliance with an untrustworthy dragon like Raishan.

Actually Tabaxi are a D&D term so in this they are Katari

I really can't wait for you to meet the character Marisha came up with after Keyleth tragically died in a fishing related accident. He was fun, fun, fun!

Thea

That's so cool! Have the best time playing DnD with your friends!! It's such a fun and rewarding thing to do, I really hope you enjoy it!

Thea

Considering you've seen the rest of the season, I already can't wait for season 4. With that out of the way... Elijah making a secret trip out to London to be with you when you're in the midst of a trying personal time: S Tier Girlfriend Shit right there!

Joey Quixote

allura and dr dranzel scene is actually kind of cool from a meta standpoint. Matt Plays Dr D in this series, but Allura is his self insert character, helps the party out as an honorable member of vox machina, in love with a badass redhead, and a bit more. So it's matt talking to matt, something he has experience with as a dm

Off-topic but I love the pj bottoms :3

Honestly I still can’t believe that in the podcast, they used Chateau Shorthalt to get back to the living world. Definitely didn’t see it coming

Pepperbox is the term for gun in this world.

Corvo Joka

That Keyleth death is so unbelievable though. I mean, jumping off a cliff and dying? Really jumped the goldfish on that one.

Megan Donecker

The funny thing is that the entire earth ritual was to explain a single spell from the game. I still think it was cool though.

Liked that you knew Marisha Ray loved Avatar and Keyleth was her inspiration for her love of the show. Plus it really show just how much she had grown and progressed as a character and a leader. Hence why she is my favourite. 💜 Also, glad you enjoyed yourself at London Comic Con and was nice meeting you there Mosco. Hoped you and Elijah had a lovely time together. 🥹👏

So that's what "tabby" is short for!

Man, if I had a nickel for every time Laura Bailey got disappointed that avenging a parent didn't make her feel better...

So a pepperbox is, strictly speaking, the kind of pistol Percy used; multiple barrels and chambers rotating around a central axis. It was named as such for the superficial resemblance to a pepper shaker, I think. Here, it seems to have become a generic word for firearm. IRL, they were somewhat popular between the popularization of the percussion cap(they had existed before then, but caps allowed for a much simpler and less finicky firing mechanism) and the invention of the single-action revolver, which performed much the same but was a lot less heavy(on account of having 83.33% less barrel) and easier to load.

SpaceNerd

The cat race people are knows as Tabaxi.

Without going into she's she's on raishan side or evil I think the Ashari council leader is just an isolationist and is risk adverse. The ashari are small tribes that don't talk to world governments often. Even the way they tried to fight Raishan last time was a very safe and distant way in giving her a disease and wait her out. And one can argue that led to all the deaths of the fire ashari in season 2 as it was raishan who opened that rift. But she seems just risk adverse as look how many people were lost attacking throdak.

Fun fact: the Hazbin Hotel interior is based on Sam Riegel's description of what Chateau Shorthalt looks like when accessed from the afterlife.

Dafydd Mac an Leigh

Can’t wait for you to get to the finale where everyone dies and meets up with Percy in the afterlife. I’ve heard rumors that season 4 is the party trying to get their lives back and fighting God himself.
