What makes Ripley’s motive and goal so great is how it fits into a fantasy world filled with wizards and magic. The only people who can really go to wizard schools are those with connections, wealth, privilege, or raw talent. Normal people who don’t possess magic are absolutely powerless against a small group of mages, heck a small group of powerful mages can kill tens if not hundreds of regular soldiers on the battlefield, so peasants and gamers are absolutely powerless.
But…what if these farmers were armed with a weapon so precise and deadly that they could defend themselves from even mages? Would it tip the scales and the wealthy and privileged bo longer hold all the power in society?
It makes her a very interesting character IMO despite how basic Ripley’s backstory is.

About 'he still has an arc to complete':
It's based on (semi) real events, remember? The campaign wasn't written like a typical story. In DnD sometimes characters die, even if they haven't completed their character arcs. That's what makes it so tragic and so much more like real life. Irl people also just die, even if they still had so much to do and live for.

Right? They can just end without getting the chance to leave the world a better place 😭 the roll of the dice. It’s crazy.

Percy set up a "Death Flag", never confess your love during a mission cause you'll never see them again

"At least he tried." He wanted to prove to Vex - and himself - that he *had* changed.

During the Vox Machina campaign Ashley Johnson, Pike's VA, was filming a tv show where she was a main character which lead to Pike not being around for long periods of time. But if they do get a season 4 I believe she should have more scenes.

DnD characters can die without finishing their arcs.

Did you notice the gun glow when Percy dies...getting him back may not be such a simple matter.

"He can't die, he has an arc to finish!" This is dnd, sometimes people just die...

The quality of Percy is not strained, just poorly timed.

As emotional and devastating as this was, it did perfectly show just how much Percy grew. Going from “No Mercy Percy” to “Merciful Percival”. He became the exact opposite of what Ripley became and it is a great quality to have, for better or worse. 😢🕯️💜

Not how it was at the table, but it still well done. If you are crying during something done but CR, you are doing the right thing lol

One of the scenes that basically everyone was waiting on reactors to see since the show got announced! Welcome to pain! (also it hurts so much more than it did in the campaign, we're hurting too)

This is an important rule to learn with anything Critical Role: NOBODY has plot armor. Ever.
Remember, in a tabletop campaign, if a player's character dies and can't be revived, the player can always roll up a new one.

Ripley is described as Percy if he never had Vox Machina to temper his thrist for vengeance. Lack of ethics in engineering. Totally fair to hate her.

Vex and Vax mother was killed by a dragon. Their orginal home town was destroyed in a dragon attack they see when they tried to go back which we saw in the first intro. The information is scattered in different episodes.
