Ducktales s1 ep23 Full, Early, Uncut

The Shadow War! NO! NOT LENA!?!

I was not emotionally prepared...

Ducktales s1 ep23 Full, Early, Uncut

Comments

Also and this is just funny to me but the one time I perfectly understood exactly what Donald Duck said was the scene where everyone commented on how they didn’t get what he just said. Such is life.

I love Magica De Spell; so funny and petty, while still managing to be actually threatening and even better pathetic too. Such a great antagonist! Also, I love how you noticed Louie can swim in the gold - it's one of my favorite things in this episode and all the other reactors I've seen, either don't mention it or think it's all three triplets who can swim in it.

59:04 Here's something interesting about Webby using night vision goggles (NVGs) in this scene. NVGs work my amplifying the available light in a given area. If there is absolutely no light, like in an enclosed building that just lost power, NVGs are functionally useless. They're just really expensive blind folds at that point. So, either Webby shouldn't be able to use them, or their shadows should still be there. I'm sure everyone will note that because there is less light, the shadows would be weaker, potentially to the point that they can no longer manifest a physical form. I'm not saying anything about the scene is right, wrong, or unbelievable. Just dropping some info I happened to know.

10:11 In Scrooge's defense, it is the second time in a single decade (which is a pretty short amount of time compared to his hundreds of years being alive) his family and closest friends deserted him over the same reason, which he also blames himself for. It's been less than a year that he's been happy, and with family again, and he just lost it...again...over the same thing. Yea, I can totally see him being this run down after a single day.

Really love watching you ride the emotions of these shows, brings back the thrill of watching them for the first time. :)

Season 2 is going to be wild. You might want to avoid reading titles beforehand to avoid spoilers. Save it for the day of recording at the very least.

Drakin Kovar

As a miraculer I have the explain the plan bit has loop and ladybug uses it every episode just fyi

LupinDuPaon

Fun fact Don “Donald” Cheadle the actor who played War Machine in the Marvel movies did the voice box voice for Donald Duck

Uncle Urdnot

I feel like you might benefit from hearing the Moon Theme from the Ducktales video game.

SweetCandle

craziest part was how much sense it made for KH

Tyrant-Den

I think he tries harder to be his version of friendly in later seasons in response.

Tyrant-Den

"Barks"ian modulator is a reference to classic Carl Barks Donald Duck comics where, as it was comic, Donald talked normally.

Tyrant-Den

I knew Mosco would be over the moon when Della was revealed. ... I'll see myself out.

Syllephia

Launchpad was nearly hired as a courier in Cape Suzette, but it didn't work out.

Chris P3

along with the tailspin nods, the song launchpad is singing...badly, is to the tune of the darkwing duck theme.

"Blink once if this guy is good friend, twice if he's just a work acquaintance." I LOVE MAGICA! <3 XD

Reverie Mephisto

By gosh, you’re right! Now, all we need is Goofy and Sora and it’ll be official!

Lana

Shadow people? Puppets gaining independence? Sea-salt ice cream? This Kingdom Hearts installment was crazy

Kris Grimsley

"Help me get my family back and you'll have a place in it" I love that line so much

Vegvisir92

Then that means Webby is 14? Cause if Lena was created during the battle that they said took place 15 years ago, then Lena is 15 years old...and if Webby is one year younger then...well, you get the point.

Flufux

Your reaction for this episode was incredibly fun! Dont worry, Its always fun to hear “I’m not ready for this,” at the beginning of a reaction and myself nodding along like “no, you ain’t.” Dont worry tho, Lena will be around. She’s too beloved by the audience and Webby to completely sideline 😉

Lana

So, Aunt Magicia vs Season 1 Shadow Weaver, who's the worse parental figure?

Omegasigma

I think that falls under that part of the plan (the one that actually goes off without a hitch) being unexplained.

Ferret

All the love, Mosco

William Timmins

Glad you love the First Season Mosco. It really is Disney at their best, alongside Owl House and Gravity Falls. Plus, David Tennant always performs to his best in every role. 😄🎉

Liam Gradwell

Hey, the Moon has a surface area equal to all of *Africa* - you can hide an awful lot of crashed ducks there.

David Johnson

The "Barksian Voice Modulator" is a reference to Carl Barks, who did the Donald Duck and Scrooge comic books series that much of the tone of *this* series is based on. Because it was a comic book, of course, Donald didn't have his normal voice, just regular speech balloons. How does "if you explain the plan, it fails" work when *part* of the plan is that the kids *won't* follow the plan?

David Johnson

Seventy three minutes?! *cackles with mad delight*

Re: all the pizza boxes, etc. -- I feel like Scrooge had a very "It's one banana, Michael. What could it cost, $10?" moment after his breakdown, and was probably just calling the pizza place and disinterestedly throwing a thousand dollars at them each time.

Stephen Mumford

Cape Suzette is from the Disney show "TailSpin," with Balloo (from Jungle Book) as a pilot of that seaplane. (opening titles) https://youtu.be/rVTD-LtpW0M?si=uEquAG8lkxeG0Dh_ And, yes, that is where the character of Don Karnarge came from as well.

David Johnson

Cape Suzette is also where the boys were trying to steal the boat to go in the first episode.

Production_Run

The music that plays during the establishing shot of the moon at the end is the Moon Theme from the Ducktales NES game. It's pretty neat they incorporated that into the show proper for the reboot.

Production_Run

40:17 Damn, cousin Gladstone's so lucky, his shadow clone not only didn't turn against him like everyone else's, but actually helped him.😂 Also, he's Donald's cousin, not his brother.

Dan_Gaming_Fan

No, Donald definitely meant "moving" as in actually moving away from Duckberg forever. He left Scrooge before when Della first became lost, and know he's leaving even further to cheer up his boys. Also, Cape Suzette is a reference to the main setting of another old Disney Cartoon, Tailspin. And that Sea plane is the same one the main character flies.

Dan_Gaming_Fan

Hey in case you see this. I hope things get better with your family. I know the difficulties of major life stuff hitting you like domino's and how it can wear on you. You are cared for.

Alex Koder

And now to drop the Della Duck plot line until Season 3.

Alex Koder

Webby: I'm totally going to sacrifice myself in the name of the rebellion. Lena: Oh, and then I hunt down your attackers and avenge your death. Webby: Aw, that's sweet.

Rachel Espiritu

This episode has David Tenant playing Catherine Tate playing David Tenant.

Tyrant-Den

Donna Noble vs. The Tenth Doctor

Tyrant-Den

Scrooge: "Help me get my family back and you'll have a place in it!" Mosco: "Oh, my heart! It's too full!"

JHB

Even after everything he’s seen, that brief moment of Scrooge attempting to protect Lena from Magica is honestly really sweet. Also, I need to keep watching in case the question of how old Lena is comes up, it was confirmed by one of the creators on his Tumblr, and I quote: “Lena is one year older than Webby.”

Crimson

I don't believe I have ever clicked faster on a Patreon notification. Can't wait to watch this one! :D

Flix

Should we warn Mosco that she may want to wear something nice for when Scrooge & Goldie go on a date in season 2?

Alex Koder

🎶 It's time to say goodbyyyyeee, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye!🎶

Sekiro

Here we go. The meeting of Doctor & Donna that Doctor Who fans eagerly awaited.
