Dragon Prince s2 ep5 Full, Raw, Uncut

Breaking the Seal! She's AMAZING!!

Okay guys I made a HUGE oopsie in this one!!! I forgot Amya and Aanya were related :') I don't want to play the dyslexic card but I have a particular flavour of dyslexia that affects memory especially of names and info like that... so um... yeah.... when I shipped them either consider it an OOPSIE or if you've got a really sick sense of humour consider it in a "Game of Thrones" way LOL

I love that you are more of a realest than Elijah and saw Viren is a pragmatic person and not pure evil. I love watching both your perspectives but I feel like I agree with you more so. I still love both channels reactions but I am liking your reactions slightly more, mostly cause I feel like you catch more (while still enjoying the shipping) and see how complex the characters are and don’t write them off as one note. but don’t tell Elijah. 🤫🤭

ELS_Art

“Elijah’s really excited for me to watch this which means it’s either full of sapphic shit or lore heavy.” YES

A Magic Duck

I guess the Lannisters are in this show

Vegvisir92

I'm glad you highlighted that Harrow and Viren were caught in a moral dilemma, and how Viren was at that point the best support Harrow could ask for. Yes, Viren is an asshole, doesn't change the fact that King Harrow made a decision that would have cost a lot of lives (sacrificing thousands of his own people without being able to prevent the queens' people to suffer great loss either), and that Viren, despite disagreeing with Harrow's decision, followed him and tried to save people from starving. Yes, at the expanse of the Titan, but in reality, just like Harrow, who didn't care for it. Their generation, unlike Callum, Ezran and Rayla's, is shown to have too much a bias against Xadia (also true the other way around) to take another approach than violence. It is actually depicted, as you pointed, with Harrow's "blindfold" philosophy. As you pointed out, Harrow is quick to forget his mantra when it comes to Xadia, and one of the final sketches show him blindfolded, but with an eye above the blindfold : his judgement is rooted in a hatred that has lasted centuries. So I'd argue that, to that regard, Viren isn't more at fault than Harrow in that specific situation.. Sure, he follows more openly a machiavelic philosophy whereas Harrow strives to stick to Rawls's conception of justice, being a society that could be accepted by people who don't know in advance how favoured they'll be in that society, but in reality, still abids at this point by Viren's philosophy : he weighs it and comes to the conclusion that human's lives is worse killing what he views as a mortal ennemy

Loved the reaction as always! As a reminder of the timeline, since people often forget this, the King of the Dragons was only killed a few months before the show begins. In the first episode it's specified to have occurred "on the eve of last winter's turn." So this flashback takes place years prior.

Byron

Queen Sarai and General Amia are sisters so that’ll be really weird

RavenFairy

There are videos on YouTube that translate what Amia is saying in 30:20 she was saying a sex joke about the king’s aiming

RavenFairy

I suspect that's mainly due to the way they came out and the total number of people out there that have seen them to begin with. SU and DT were both on big, animation-friendly networks that were free to view, while Dragon Prince is on the pay-to-watch Netflix. I'm not sure about other, but I definitely prefer watching reactors of shows I'm already familiar with.

Stephen Mumford

Yeah, I think people are just now starting to get into it (because Netflix is just starting to promote it as much as they should) so hopefully those numbers will go up 🤞

Lin

I've watched a lot of people react to it and still love it, loved seeing Mortius pull Casper into it xD

Boo

Omg yes! We need another one(always), I have a couple recommendations if you want more peeps

Phoenix Mackenzie

I wish that number would reflect on the reactors Youtube analytics :') its performing poorly for both me and Elijah, both Ducktales and Steven Universe are out performing it by 3x the amount of views.

Mosco Moon

Dragon Prince is number 8 in TV shows today on Netflix!!!! People are watching it more!

Lin

I can't believe that Mosco caught the bi energy from Queen Sarai, and almost missed the lesbian queens of Duren. Still, I'm so glad Mosco likes Queen Aanya. I'm really glad that they devote so much of Season 4 to the marriage between her and Ezren. They make such a great couple - him the idealist and dreamer, her the practical planner. I still haven't started Season 6, but I'm hoping for more of them uniting the Pentarchy while reconciling with the dragons and elves.

Haldon Lindstrom

Gotta love Queen Aanya. The most level-headed member of the Pentarchy and calls out Viren on all of his bullshit. You're the expert, but yeah, I also got the feeling Sarai might have been bi. "A woman came to me in my dream." "Was she naked?" "No." "Boo." On top of that, just a very cool character. Would have been nice to get more time with her. And ya gotta appreciate how casually they bring in the Queens of Duren. No ceremony, no "unprecedented" comment. Just "Yup. Kingdom run by a sapphic couple." All part of the reason Elijah loved this episode. A lot of excellent female representation. Thankfully the little flub is at the end of the video and will be an easy cut.

Joey Quixote

12:34 OMG no one use this scene out of context.

Neetaku

That would be absolutely amazing

Brianna Valeriano

This isn't about the episode but I'd love to see you react to Epic: The Musical Animatics. It is amazing and I think you'd love the music and the story throughout. It's based on the odyssey.

Boo

When I first watched this episode, I thought Amaya's joke was dirty. Something to the effect of "two fingers in the right spot would get the job done." Then I remembered this is a kids show.

Ryan Porter

You're not the only one! For some shows, I've started making family tree webs, just so I can keep track of everyone. No fake spoilers this time - just sympathy for forgetting character names/relationships.

Haldon Lindstrom

For some context, when King Harrow made a certain hand gesture, he accidentally made the sign language sign for 'up your ass' and that's what Amaya and Sarai found so funny.

Flufux

You can find subtitles for Amaya’s signing on YouTube. This video has all her scenes from the first three seasons; so if you watch it, take care to stop before you reach spoilers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2h5ZHqMtp0

Bernhard

It's basically the two towers of the castle.

David Johnson

That motif being used all over is a nice quiet worldbuilding touch.

William Timmins

Mosco having a thing for Sarai and Elijah for Amaya is so funny but I def get it.

SGM

To clarify: Sarai is Harrow's wife and Amaya's sister. Aanya is the girl queen in the present.

SpaceNerd

I like the subtle differences between the King's & Queen's crowns...and that her spear matches her crown.

David Johnson

No amount of preparing can downplay next episode
