2024-06-27 16:28:26 +0000 UTCjust a rule of thumb, the show's based around having to figure things out in time. it's very much build like a mystery show with you the viewer only ever being given as much info as Steven has (since the show is from his POV) so whenever you find yourself asking "what about this, would this be a spoiler to know?" most likely: yeah. even small stuff, it's all purposefully unclear at the start. you'll get most of your answers if you just keep watching :3c (you'll get answers more quickly if you always react to 3 eps per reaction, but that's just me having silly little thoughts hmmmmm....)

When the showrunners want you to know something, they'll tell you. As for his age here, while we don't really know, it's most certainly not 13. The internet lied to you. Just trust your intuition and the acting of the characters.

Rebecca sugar is very musical, so alll the music and sound design stuff are very thought out π

2024-06-19 15:38:28 +0000 UTCGems are quite old. They were created when an asteroid smacked into the Earth and formed the moon and crystal gems at the same time. These 3 Crystal gems (plus Steven's mother) were formed on Earth while the rest of the gems they are fighting were formed on the moon. The moon gems need to defeat the Crystal Gems on Earth in order to colonize. Fortunately most of the Moon Gems arent more intelligent than animals. Dont get too attached to the Earth's Crystal Gems, sometime in the first or second season one of them is killed (but comes back at the end of the show)

It seems so episodic and kids-showish at first, but the details are well thought out.

For me it's two: First one is Fifth Avenue, which was my dad's favorite candy bar and we would split one when I went with him on errands. They're still around but you don't see them very often; whenever I do see one I have it. The other is a chocolate bar named Chocolate Santander Sunset Banana, which was expensive but the tastiest chocolate I've ever had. Rich, high-quality dark chocolate with little pieces of candied banana. It was discontinued like a decade ago and I still miss it occasionally.

That's more like a special weekend breakfast. Every day breakfast is more like eggs, toast, oatmeal or cereal, maybe with sausage or avocado, or sometimes rice.

2024-06-16 20:09:54 +0000 UTCEach episode looking different is just a thing Steven Universe does. The creator gave the storyboard artists freedom to draw mostly how they wanted for the episode. Sometimes it is very noticeable but does get more uniform towards the end. You are right with Steven's age. Amethyst is the closest in age to Steven but her and the other gems are all adults. I'm really loving these reactions so far! I know this series is going to be a blast!

Also, episode 3 looks so different and exaggerated because it was one of the first episodes to be storyborded. Many shows have different storyboarders with slightly different styles, but early season one of SU is infamous for how inconsistent the animation is.

As for the animation style, S1 has a lot of inconsistencies at times. Itβs still the show, just animators finding their footing!

The later seasons get a lot of praise, but it's easy to forget how cutesy this show is in the early going. Particularly the next two episodes. They're kinda famous among the fandom. It's hard to gage how I progressed in my attitude toward the characters, considering I effectively watched season 1 way out of order, but I'm enjoying watching you get a feel for them.
