The Infernal Internship of Mark Beaks!
I've not wanted to punch a character this much in AGES!!!
God I forgot just *how* obnoxious Mar Zuckerbird was...

yeah, at least for the moment we are mostly introducing all the major villians and side characters, so they can focus on plot stuff later, somewhat similar to how the first half of season 1 of Owl House worked. Gotta do a bunch of world building before getting to the big stuff. But the big stuff does come and it's fantastic when it does.

to be fair...Nolan does, you know...get a rather severe comeuppance, I'm afraid Mark Beaks won't be so lucky.

There will be episodes that touch on the big seeds they've planted in the story, but season one is also all about setting up stuff that will pay off later. Trust me, some thing you might considder a 'throwaway gag' may hint at future plot twists or big reveals. IE, just this episode, that last bit with Glomgold and his 'fake beard' hints at something to come in season 2.
That's all I'll say to avoid spoilers, but just keep an eye out. The creators were very clever about hiding some things that will come about later. Admitedly not everything has a jaw-dropping payoff, but you'll be surprised just how creative some of these set-ups are.

I absolutely love to hate this slimy prick! It was brilliant to add a new money tech-bro type villain to a show starring the only billionaire character people actually like!

Mosco's real reason for loving Ducktales... no "Bloody useless sapphics" :P

He's not quite as punchable as Leiutenant Nolan (Bad Batch S2), not yet anyways.

0:55 Gladstone Gander is not Donald's brother, he's his cousin. Just wanted to clear that up.

im surprised by how much mosco likes this one, not my favourite but it has its place to serve as development for huey and dewey, we also see the first glimses of something important to hueys character that factors in later that I love.

He's simply too powerful for this kind of episode.

Probably my least favorite episode, just by virtue of my hatred of this character. Which I suppose is the point, but...him and one other character whose whole thing seems to be...stuck up rich a-hole, really rub me the wrong way in a way somebody like glomgold doesn't. Not a fan of any of the episodes featuring them. (of which there are 2-3 each)

Louie probably wasn't in this episode because he would've known Beaks was a fraud from the start.

Three fun facts:
First fun fact: Mark Beaks was originally gonna be named Mark Duckerberg, but in the end they decided not to use that in case the real Mark Zuckerberg would send a cease and desist on them or something. That said, 'Beaks' is somewhat supposed to be a play on 'Jobs', as in 'Steve Jobs'.
Second fun fact: when asked in an interview, one of the creators said that when they come up with Glomgold's ridiculous schemes, they always used the first idea they had with no take backs...which is probably how the character also comes up with them. "First idea, the only idea."
Third and final fun fact: Mark Beaks is an African Grey Parrot, which is considered to be one of the most intelligent birds in the world, hence why he's a tech genius...or at least, pretends to be.

I like how Scrooge represents the honest, hardworking way of making money, while Glomgold is about cheating and stealing. And now Beaks represents the lazy, corrupt way.
