Mosco feeling Grade A vindicated with this one!

Super late but I think Vaggie did lie beyond a lie of omission. While we never see Charlie say it, it seems reasonable charlie assumed vaggie was a demon who survived and Vaggie never corrected her. Won't be too shocked if Charlie asked vaggie where she lived and stuff and when vaggie didn't want to orndidnt say Charlie took care of her. Now it's possible that's a lie of omission not telling but if you're with someone for 3 years and never correct it I think that's clearly dishonest. Might not be a lie but does that matter? It's still painful on Charlie to find that out. I think its more than a lie of omission if you signal to someone their idea is correct when it isn't. Migjt not be an outright lie.

As the resident winged toaster/angelic tesseract, I'm gonna have to say the full five seconds of spluttering over whether you'd cannibalize angels does NOT fill me with an immense amount of confidence. :O

Except for the x had nothing to do with her being an exorcist. It had to do with the fact that somebody stole her eye.

I'm so late, but. That, and Charlie is an unreliable narrator. Which isn't an insult; it's an actual writing trope. She says what she THINKS, not just what she KNOWS. She's not omnipotent. We have to decide what she says is actually true; she WILL take and spread misinformation. She isn't even as likely as Vaggie to see through lies. That's up to us to witness her falling for them. Anything she says happens offscreen should be deliberated, not taken at face value.

So that's twice in one week we had a Mosco reboot. I think the software needs an update.

Well like Moscow pointed out in her episode six reaction while that may be true we have no proof either way if if Charlie did or did not specifically ask Vaggie about her past. Also like Rossie points out later it is hard for some people to bring up painful topics. So I would say both of them clearly need to work on their relationship (hopefully we get more of that in season two) and I wouldn’t put all the fault on Vaggie. As sweet as Charlie is she is not without fault.

ELS_Art

I agree with you on season length; Legends of Tomorrow, one of my top five shows, had around 15 +/- 2 episodes per season. It was short enough that the plot never had to jog in place, but long enough that not everything had to drive the plot; there was some room to play around. I'd love if season two was like that, too. ...but I also realize the enormity of what producing 300 minutes of top notch animation would be.

definitely

it definitely has the same issue i've run into with the various disney+ star wars and marvel shows, where the short runtime forces them to wrap up storylines too fast and things end up feeling, as you said, off, as plotlines are added and dropped without time to breathe. I certainly didn't need the revelation of episode 6 to last multiple episodes, but all the same, I would have appreciated it if things slowed down a little bit. Here's hoping season 2 is, at an absolute minimum, 13 episodes, if not more. I know the old 26 episode structure is more or less dead and that's probably good, but the 6-8 that have become popular just doesn't really work for story heavy shows. The pacing for certain big upcoming moments in Harley Quinn (or owl house) feels so much better than what we got here. Still absolutely adored hazbin hotel, but the short run time definitely made it feel rushed.

A lie by omission is still a lie it’s in the name she deliberately withheld information from her to obscure the truth and even if Charlie asked vaggie about her past which she most likely did at that stage she would have simply avoided answering the actual question and Charlie wouldn’t push it because that’s the kind of person she is

Dark Persona

Can we talk about Carmilla with her hair down though

Azirapalala

I really don’t find a “Lie of Omission” a lie considering it just shows Charlie never really cared enough to ask about Vaggies past. Also I am so happy that two out of my three favorite reactors are Alastor for the manipulative bad guy he is. It helps balance out the one reactor that simps for him and thinks he can do no wrong. 😂

ELS_Art

Regarding Vaggie's past, some people believe in a "lie of omission". I don't think that's lying at all, but it's probably what Charlie meant. Something about Charlie calling Alastor an asshole was adorable. It had the same feel as a little hmph/harumph.

Brendon J. Dube

i think, when she says vaggie was "lying to her", charlie means it in the omission of the truth way instead of flat out lying to her face. like, she probably means it as "we talked about angels and heaven SO MUCH for years, and she never mentioned she was one to me!" instead of as vaggie just straight up lied. in her charlie mind, she probably just views the two as the same because at the end of the day, vaggie just didn't tell her.

Technically, the hotel *did* work - that's why Emily was puzzled Angel wasn't in Heaven last episode. It's just...it worked according to what Heaven *said* were the rules, not what the rules actually are.

David Johnson

Yep, Alastor has been confirmed to be aroace, though apparently he isn't really aware of that identity and doesn't know those words because of the time period he lived in, hence him not understanding what Rosie meant. Someone teach this man. Him reminding you of Shadow Weaver...I could see those two drinking wine or something and being super passive-aggressive towards each other.

Vilmu

I feel like for kinda a minor character Carmella has to much songs I think besides Charlie she has the most songs

xattygt

Its not both its just that camilla is arguing u fight harder when your protecting people u care about vengence clouds your judgment

demonic-myst

Not balls just eveb fallen angels are invincible to dsmage even the goecia cant be hurt by anything less than angelic weapons

I think season two may be a power struggle in Hell. With the events of the finale, the extermination may be called off, or at least postponed. The overlords will be in fighting, more people may come to the hotel to seek redemption, especially if they find out that it works. I think Angel Dust will be the focus of the season arc, since even if he is redeemed, Valentino owns his own and that probably means he can't go to heaven as long as he does. So they'll need to figure out a way to emancipate souls from the overlords without killing them.

Ryan Porter

Mosco: "Catra, no!" Catra: "What did I do?" Mosco: "Sorry, sweetie. Reflex. Alastor, no!" I just noticed that the character's eyes are always drawn over their hair - like Charlie's hair poof. And now I can't unsee it. It's ... a choice to have Charlie and Vaggie be separate for almost the entire episode. I was expecting at least half of this episode to be them alone together, dealing with the fallout of this revelation. Maybe some flashbacks to their courtship. So to have the reconciliation be so quick feels ... off. I guess we had to move the plot and get everyone where they need to be for the finale, but I wanted more Chaggie angst! I wanted a fugue! I wonder how the fandom would have handled it if they had only dropped an episode per week. More time for people to freak out about the cliffhangers, freak out about the theories. And unfortunately, more time for the Vangel deniers to spout their nonesense. Oh, well. Onto the finale!

Ryan Porter

Daphne Rubin-Vega, the OG Mimi herself, absolutely kills it as Carmilla this episode. Both the dialogue and the song were S-tier shit

Dafydd Mac an Leigh

I can’t even begin to predict for season 2. At every turn this season has subverted my expectations in the best possible way. (All the way back to the trailer - think of how many of those shots turned out to mean something completely different than they appeared!)

Steve Przybylski

I predict several minutes of bi panic over Vaggie's wings...

An hour long, this will be fun
