Custom Reactions
Added 2023-12-12 10:26:20 +0000 UTCHey all, I know a LOT of you have been asking me to react to X, Y and Z over the year and a half I've been doing this. So putting the feelers out for this. If I created a service where you could pay for one off reactions that may (or may not) end up on Youtube, would that interest you?

I love the idea of it, but whether I'd buy would largely depend on the prices. (because of my own budget, not because of any judgment on the value of your time)

2024-01-11 19:38:24 +0000 UTCI've already thought of multiple things I'd pay for reactions of. Especially if it can include stuff like music.

2023-12-24 00:30:44 +0000 UTCI like the idea of seeing something off the beaten path that you don't usually have people reacting to, but without knowing what it actually is it's hard to commit to watching it.

2023-12-13 03:25:27 +0000 UTCThats amazing, I defo wouldnt be doing it as a Patreon tier, I'd be doing it as a form submission then payment likely through an alt source such as Paypal (but tbd) because it might be that 1 month I can only take on 1 request bt the next month isnt nearly as busy so maybe I can do 5 or 6, just depends. It would be through a google form submission and then once agreed and payment made it would be added to my trello work stack. This way everyone gets a chance to submit for one, and we can discuss through Patreon. It might even be I set up a temp one off tier for that person to pay through, I'll investigate my options when I decide to roll out.

2023-12-12 17:53:58 +0000 UTCEliah and I have already considered a lot of this, it would only be open to people on Patreon, people here seem more trustworthy and less likely to do something that would get them blocked, plus for me I'd be posting the reaction here anyway so they'd need access to it. People recommending their own shit is fine, as long as it falls under our usual Ts and Cs and they understand we might not enjoy it There will defo be a cap on how many we can do in a period of time, but we'll set that as we go, so if someone wants to pay for a full series reaction then that will be a discussion to understand that the episodes may need to drop weekly as opposed to all at once. but I do love your idea of a review / critique option for things we've already seen, not a bad idea.

2023-12-12 16:22:34 +0000 UTCAnother reactor I support has something like this, a limited-number tier where the Patron chooses the movie. (She reacts to movies and some TV shows that tie in, like the Marvel shows.) That level is ALWAYS sold out, though, and often its the same supporters naming the movies to watch. It's not clear if there's a "cooldown period" after naming a movie, or if people are just parked there because they have the money. So my suggestion would be to have this tier be one-offs, not per-month, if that's possible. Make sure that a small number of well-heeled patrons can't monopolize it. And plenty of the suggestions above about T&C and making sure there's a "nope, here's yer money back" clause. The other reactor I mentioned with a "patron's choice" level you might want to see as an example is Ashleigh Burton: https://www.patreon.com/awkwardashleigh/membership

2023-12-12 15:52:04 +0000 UTCThat’s an amazing idea! If you do that I will 100% buy one.

2023-12-12 15:12:39 +0000 UTCI said 'interested but probably wouldn't buy', but really it depends on price.

2023-12-12 15:10:53 +0000 UTCOther thoughts: -With T&C, I might recommend a warning that if someone requests something that subjects you to something you explicitly state you do not want to see (ie. sexual abuse) you have the right to not post the reaction, refuse all further requests from them and deny a refund. I think that's more a concern if you opened this to the public, and I don't think you have to worry about that from anyone here, but worth setting some strict boundaries. You are a reactor but should not be risking your mental health for us. -Will there be a clause for people recommending their own creations? I saw it a lot on Elijah's old server with some of her followers requesting she react to their work. I know it can be a bit of a thorny issue. -While I think most who buy will only be making individual purchases, some might be inclined to purchase more than 1 episode at a time. I might recommend a cap or a scheduling exclusion. As in someone could buy up 5 reactions in a go, but that doesn't mean you'll do them all in one go or jam them all into the scheduling window afforded to a single purchase. -As there is a lot of content both you and Elijah have consumed, in lieu of a reaction to shows and movies you've watched off camera, I might recommend offering rewatches/critiques as well.

2023-12-12 14:09:44 +0000 UTCThis sounds like a great idea Mosco 😃👍 So, just for clarification; we get the option to ask you to react to a one off episode of something? I’d like to try it out when I can.

2023-12-12 13:30:20 +0000 UTCYa know, I'll throw my vote for a defo. I have a handful of shows that, while I enjoy and think several reactors would enjoy, I'm fairly positive would not perform well on YouTube, save for the key episodes. For one of those shows, I already have a road map of highlight episodes mapped out. Count me in! You and Elijah both. Morgan too once they have their computer issue resolved, if they hop on the bandwagon.

2023-12-12 13:29:08 +0000 UTCI think she means rather than recommending a whole series, recommend a key episode or two. Something she perhaps has no interest in watching (or at the very least react to) that you'd still like to see a reaction to.

2023-12-12 13:24:06 +0000 UTCSo what your saying is, We'd have the option to pay for you to react to something we want, and you may or may not put it on youtube? That sounds like a great idea. I'm just not sure what you mean by "one offs" or if I can think of any. I'd love to try it though.

2023-12-12 12:57:47 +0000 UTCI think this is pretty neat for an idea, and I’m definitely interested but I do have to admit I’d be waiting out the holidays before buying anything from anyone 😅 having holidays and early jan birthdays to plan for wipes me out every year

2023-12-12 12:18:10 +0000 UTCWhat I was hashing out with Elijah when we spoke about this idea, was a cost based on how long the thing was we are asked to react too, eg a movie would cost a lot more than a single 10min episode of something, or a youtube video of some kind. That's what we're building our pricing around. In terms of timing absolutely there would be a window, I'd defo have to work out some Ts and Cs because there's defo some stuff I 100% WONT react to.

2023-12-12 12:01:18 +0000 UTCIt's certainly an interesting concept, and it might not hurt to have it on the table. I guess for me it would partially depend on pricing and limitations. I can't guarantee I'd purchase one, but I definitely think it's a worthwhile option to have around, so long as it's not abused. Naturally as creator, you'd maintain the right to deny a reaction on any basis. And of course there is your schedule to consider. Would the requester have a guaranteed window of delivery, or would it strictly be on your own time? Regardless, it's got the gears turning as to what I'd consider for a special request.

2023-12-12 11:43:20 +0000 UTCExactly what Lucas says! It's a chance for people to pay me to watch something I'd NEVER have watched / considered for my channel. Or something that keeps getting shunned out of votes for not being popular enough.
Mosco Moon
2023-12-12 11:26:06 +0000 UTCBut on regular patreon, she gets to decide if what people have been asking would be better for the channel or not and all that. This would be a chance for a single person to pay and directly request something for her to react.
