A year late on this but since nobody previously has mentioned it, I highly recommend watching the 90s Batman series episodes, "Off Balance", and "The Demon's Quest" parts 1 & 2. They're some of the best eps of a really fantastic series and give you a great introduction to Damien's mom and grampa (the latter voiced by the late, great David Warner).

To be fair if she kills robin she may end up with red hood as her nemesis that be nice she may not live to tell about it tho , context redhood is created when a robin is killed by joker then resurected with a bloodlust to kill criminals

Ivy: "Harley, no!" HQ: "Harley, yes!" Yeah, that's the show in a nutshell. "Hey Adora..." (five seconds later) "Fuck, I can't think straight now." It may be correlation, not causation, but you seemed to be able to think straight *before* a certain someone texted you... I don't get why everyone is so obsessed with getting a nemesis. It's so much work. You can carry out your diabolic plans just fine without having to monologue at some hero about how you're not so different. And it's never just a nemesis. They always come with a side kick and a love interest and the writers are always on their side... It feels like you're genuinely enjoying the show. Episode four is where it all gels and the writers find their groove. From here on out it feels like the writers are playing Calvinball, perfectly balancing the super and the mundane, and taking everything just the right amount of serious for how absurd this kind of reality would be to live in.

Ah, King Shark! Voiced by the ever delightful Ron Funches. I was a big fan of his appearances on @midnight. His stand-up is fun too. Again this show delivering my favorite version of a DC mainstay. Such a sweet but terrifying fellow! One text and your train of thought is completely derailed. You two are too much.

Some of how heroes and villians interact in this series is similar to how they do in the "Venture Brothers" series - which is also well worth a watch, BTW. The "Bat Shark Repellent" is an Easter Egg from - of all things - the 1966 Batman movie ("Lego Batman" did something similar). The Robin here is the Damian Wayne Robin - who *is* the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul. And now you have met King Shark and Sy Borgman.

Hey, who can think straight after getting a "hey, Adora" on their phone?

I love King Shark but WOW was it shocking to hear the voice of Khaki Bottom from the Ball Pit Car come out of him

J. Jenny Jameson

Yeah this one is also my favorite from the first four episodes! I love the whole concept of a talk show dedicated to superhero/supervillain drama! And her theme music is really catchy.

More like, Harley WTF?! Harley and Ivy are very Seahawk and Mermista coded. Catra is obviously Selena.

The 4th Robin is Damian Wayne aka Bruce Wayne’s son, with Talia al Ghul. Talia is the sometimes love intrest of Bruce, and the daughter of Ra's al Ghul, a batman villain. Damian is not well liked by the comics community. He is seen as a whiny entitled little shit. Thus what making fun of him here get's great reviews from hard core batman fans. Aren't you glad you asked :)

I love that your message alert for Elijah is "Hey Adora." That is precious. Anyway, at last, you've met King Shark! The the most wholesome man-eating fish man there is. When he's not in a feeding frenzy, he's down right adorable. Almost like he'd be a good guy if society weren't immediately terrified of him for what he is. Also, yes, this version of Robin, Damien Wayne, is Bruce's biological son.

Instead of Catra, NO, it's Harley, NO

The one great thing about this series is that it almost always takes very well known media tropes and turns them on their head. Especially with the first two seasons the titles of the episodes dont always align with the plot. They also often use the dialogue and apply what's said to the actual episode which most people can only pick up on if they pay close attention or rewatch. It's the same with a lot of the jokes as well. I definitely missed some the first time I watched the show and even watching it again here. I'm very excited for you to see the next one it's quite the mind trip (pun intended you'll know what I mean after u watch it)

My boy Nanaue is here! I love this interpretation of King Shark so much. Also, best use of Shark-Repellent-Bat-Spray ever. And kudos to whover came up with "Ive Harley even know ya", these are some next level puns we're dealing with here :D

Another fun episode to watch. Yeah that is I think the 4th Robin who is Bruce Wayne’s son. It’s confusing if you don’t read comics and I think it still is then honestly. The can of shark repellent was a call back to the old Adam West Batman movie where he used the same thing… on an exploding robot shark. Yay king Shark is a fan fave character alongside Bane. The cringe felt in this show is real, sometimes it makes me feel like I will implode in on myself from second hand embarrassment. Crikey yeah Harley getting seen as a hero would have been a total mess!
