So the reason for Ivy’s method of the antidote is because that’s how she gave the antidote in the comics that is how she could heal people and kill people, but it’s because of the comics

watching these reactions as a long time dc fan is an absolute delight. I love the whole series but the beginning of season 1 is probably my least favorite. it gets going don’t worry 👀

you could've taken some time off on reacting til you're feeling better

I will say that the first few episodes of s1 of harley quinn was never my favourite just because it seemed extremely targeted towards male comic book fans instead of harley quinn fans and lacked a female perspective in the writing despite two of the main characters being women. Episode 4 is one of my favourites from this season and it really picks up from there. As much as it can be frustrating watching harley and her interactions with/about joker it's very realistic to abuse victims as one myself and knowing people who are. It's sad and it's frustrating but again it's realistic! I do appreciate you being honest with your thoughts though because I know despite this being highly requested, you're not gonna love everything. I also hope you feel better soon! Don't feel pressured to post if you feel unwell, we're willing to wait so take all the time you need!

You could have taken some time off. We would have understood. We appreciate the content though, and know that you're trying to make this full time. Much respect for gutting that out.💪 Harley chasing the Joker tapers off pretty significantly after season 1. So yeah, you'll unfortunately have to endure it a while longer. Yeah... coulda done without the kissing thing. I get that it's how her powers were initially written, from an era where virtually every female hero/villain had powers attached to her sexuality. But they were kids... just... don't... Ivy has god-tier sass. Between dealing with Harley's shenanigans and the general batshittery that is Gotham's hero/villain scene, someone needs to be speaking truth to these lunatics. Hope you're taking it easy, had an extra long soak, had more than the recommended serving of mint-chocolate Oreos, and just relaxed after this. I know at least you tried, but someone tried to jungle with a Blissey. Hoping your day is going better than yesterday.

This show brings in a *lot* of "D-list" Batman villains...like Kite-Man (yes, wearing a kite is literally his whole "power" in the comics) and then somehow make them *main* characters you really want to learn more about. And, yeah, Ivy has always been able to kiss & kill...her name is *Poison* Ivy, after all.

I'll try to keep it relatively vague regarding Joker timeline stuff, but inevitably mentioning anything about future developments is a spoiler, be warned: Most of the 1st season will probably annoy you with how Joker-obsessed Harley is, but things take an interesting turn in 2nd season and while Joker remains a prominent character, Harley's obsession with him is almost completely over by Season 2. Really excited to hear your thoughts on where things go with him, if you get that far. (Un)fortunately Joker's not the only toxic male, but I feel like all the problematic stuff is intentional and pays off pretty well. (Except for the kisses at the end of this episode, I agree that was weird and didn't serve any purpose except as a wrap-up to the plot contrivance to force Ivy to interact with Kite Man) Interested to see your reactions to a certain C-word-spouting individual in the near future.

I love Frank. ;)

I'm with you on feeling incredibly uncomfy with all of the child sexualization in this episode. Like I'm sure teens talk about that stuff with each other, but having that convo and those interactions with adults was very.. gross imo. I'm only on season 2, but it is definitely a gory over the top show in general. So mentally prepare for more gore, and more of Harley chasing Joker in various ways.

Honey

Interesting aside, there's a superhero roleplaying game named Villains and Vigilantes.

William Timmins

"The first episode was way more gory than I expected, but the rest of the season is better." Having just finished re-watching season one, I can say that whoever said that was telling you a fairy tale. And not in the original German. The top's name goes first in the ship name. (This is bait) Scarecrow's whole thing is "fear toxin". It's effects vary depending on the show, but in general, it makes people see their worst fears. If you inhaled some you'd probably see an anthropomorphic slice of pineapple pizza wearing crocs. "How long does she gripe and moan after Joker?" The whole series. This is one long, slow burn, bisexual love triangle that later becomes a lust rhombus. It's like Lost Girl but without the incredibly fucked up final season, just an very problematic Valentine's Day special.

I'm sorry you're having a rough time right now. I hope things start to look up soon. Bane is one of the funniest characters in the entire show. I love how he looks like the classic comic book version, but talks like the Dark Knight Rises version. It's the best of both worlds, and again, absolutely hilarious. And don't worry, Harley moaning and griping about the Joker is almost completely over by the start of season 2. And it's sooo worth trudging through to get to season 3. You'll love what that's about.
