Gravity Falls s2 ep16 Roadside Attraction Full Reaction

Can 100% confirm that you can find stupid things like that all over the place throughout Midwest-West Coast. I highly recommend taking a road trip across the states if you can ever manage it. It's so worth it to see the gradual change in environment & making random stops along the way all adds up to being a great time. I totally ship Dipper & Candy now. She's smart, sweet, & obsessed with learning about odd things much like Dipper's obsession with Ford's Journals & mysteries. I hope they get to spend more time together & get to know eachother. P.S. Hope you are doing better & that special people are helping you feel better. 💙

Thanks David! Still dealing with stuff at my end but I had a "okay" day mentally yesterday so managed to smash out 3 recordings. No energy to do the post recording thoughts tho :( but thanks for asking <3 Also thanks for this background info too it defo explains why he was still obsessed with Wendy I did find that a little unusual.

Weird Al (who incidentally played the wizard Probabilitor in Dungeons, Dungeons and More Dungeons) has a song called "The Biggest Ball Of Twine In Minnesota" that's basically about how taking trips to see crazy roadside attractions is a common family outing in the US. And the Biggest Ball of Twine IS actually real and in Minnesota.

I've often heard this described as the worst episode of Gravity Falls ever, and I think that's solely due to it's placement this late in the season. If it had come out right after "Into the Bunker" like it was supposed to, I think it would've been much better received, and not messed with the flow of the show's overall narrative. Because by itself, it's actually pretty decent, save for the Dipper and Candy pairing which comes right out of nowhere and is never brought up again.

Well, were you wearing gold chains and a fez?

I’ve been to Trees of Mystery a couple times and have never been attacked and/or eaten by a giant spider.

I hope you're feeling better. This episode was actually supposed to run right after "Into the Bunker," which is why we have Dipper still dealing with Wendy feelings, no mention of Ford, etc. Disney, however, wanted to break up all the "serious" episodes that make up the rest of this season, so... All these attractions are based on real ones in the Pacific Northwest. "Mystery Mountain" is almost an exact copy of "Trees Of Mystery," near Crescent City, California, right down to the Paul Bunyan statue and the cable car. Pretty sure *not* the giant spiders, though...pretty sure...
