Woooooooooo still alive!
Survived 2 different plagues. Bronchitis and some mysterious debilitating full body pain that came and went in a day. Still don't know what that was. Very cool. Might be dying. Oh well.
Anyways let's talk business.
Thankfully things have been progressing smoothly this past month-ish.
Finished everything related to lighting and light baking. It's not perfect but I'm done with it. I might revisit it some day in the future but for now, good enough is enough.
Lumen still looks better than baked but it kills performance. It's an extra option for those with older/weaker PCs. Overall the more settings and options the better.
Finished Ghost 2.0 and a variation (for a handful of scenes I have in mind). Again not perfect but it's pretty damn close to what I'd consider perfect.
I had to do a much deeper dive into rigging and weight painting. In hindsight Original Ghost 1.0 was a bit shit in those areas. Something that I didn't even notice while making the scenes for v0.1 was the way the arms bent at certain angles. Those issues are mostly gone. It was because of weird twist bones and importing an overly complicated skeleton to Unreal.
That was more or less what I've been up to.
At the moment I'm polishing things and adding the smaller details. Things like sound effects, tweaking animations, messing with texture sizes. And a few other miscellaneous stuff.
For now, as long as nothing otherworldly happens, like getting super bronchitis. The next version should be done during July. Most likely. Probably.
I cannot emphasize how hard it is to give an accurate estimate. Even a vague estimate is hard. Sometimes some small thing that I think will take an hour or two, ends up taking me a week.
But with a small amount of confidence I think July is accurate.
Maybe.
With alll that said, I'll now return to my cave. Goooooood byeeeeeee.
