Alrighty. Get comfy. Grab a snack Here comes a long post.
But before we begin, I hope you all enjoyed the latest update.
Now let's talk what's next.
Regarding Statues: I want the next update to be released on steam. I'll work on the SFX and a handful of other small things that didn't make it into this update. But it should be one or two months. It'll depend mostly on how long the steam approval takes.
After that I'll begin working on a free roam post-credit mode. It'll be a bunch of small quick updates. With a greater focus on more scenes and wrapping up the story to a nice ending.
Even though I've been pretty bad with time estimates I'd like to be done with statues around the end of 2023.
This brings me to my next point.
Announcing my next Big Mistake:
PP.TT.
I know what you're thinking... That name... Is amazing!. Thanks, I know.
I was originally going to make this game in RPGMaker but I'd rather move onto 3D as soon as possible. If it all works out how I'm hoping, I'll be developing PPTT while making those small updates to Statues. That way I can post content to the internet while making the next game. Ideally the first version of PPTT will release soon after the final version of Statues. That way there's not a huge gap between releasing something.
Let's talk about PP.TT. now.
The name is a placeholder, it may or may not be the final one. I think it's hilarious though. But I also don't want to get sued by Konami.
Let me give you the elevator pitch:
P.T. but the you bang the ghost. That's it :)
If you somehow don't know what P.T. is.
It'll be a a game about exploring a confined space with a focus on atmosphere and environmental story telling with little to no dialog between characters. A story told in more unorthodox ways. A mix of horror, eeriness and a general feeling of discomfort. With a really, really hot ghost. A fun juxtaposition.
First I'd like to release a prologue of the game where you explore a house that the ghost is haunting. After that the rest of the game set in a cemetery as a continuation.
These are the plans. How much ends up being reality only time will tell.
Alright I'll be getting some rest now. This last update was a lot of work. These past couple of months I've worked more or less full time on the game. So I need to focus on my real work for a bit.
Until next week. I'll probably start posting some more behind the scenes until I have actual content to show.
Goood byeeee.
