I always like a decent physical transformation with the corruption, so here's my suggested scenario: Bastila is exposed to a Sith virus that turns her into a Maelibus hybrid (look it up on Wookiepedia; basically a predatory humanoid creature with some demonic features). The virus also causes her to feel lust for the Sith mistress that infected her (I don't know my SW lore well enough to know who this mistress could be - maybe an original character?)
