new garden gates!

The new garden gates I had custom built have arrived. I needed to find some solutions to critter proof them, so I picked up a few stone pavers and used some leftover hardware cloth.

The owls will be good and help with some of that. We have a lot of owls around here and hawks, fox too. I'm determined to keep the rabbits out of my garden this year. Last year I didn't realize there was a nest in my garden so they ate all my baby plants before they even had a chance to really grow 😢 So far, so good this year!

Thank you Dennis 🙏 I'm loving the gates too ☀️

The Naked Gardener

Hard to believe it's been five years since I started building the garden. Wow!

The Naked Gardener

Thanks! I love them too 💕

The Naked Gardener

Yes! I'll touch on some of that in my next walk and talk video for you guys!

The Naked Gardener

lol yes, he offered to once he got out there but instead I handed him my camera ;) he does help me with a lot of the heavy loading around here, but sometimes I like to do it myself. It's a good body workout!

I think your work is impressive. When I first saw the timber blocking the base, I thought what a mess? The blocks are a fantastic barrier, but I could not believe that you moved them without help. I am not going to be popular here. I think that your husband should have helped. Nice work. 👍

Jeff Wieme

I am thinking your gates have a meaning, can you discuss them in the future?

Steven Foste

Love Your new gates !! They are really nice !! Nearly as pretty as You !! Easy does it !!

James

This brought back all the memories of you first picking this spot and laying this garden all out! It was so fun to see these beautiful entrances take shape! You are strong those pavers are huge!

Timothy Macsuga

The new gates are gorgeous. I’m even more impressed though with your strength and stamina. Looks like you’re trying out for a Wonder Woman movie. You never fail to impress me

Dennis

I lost my carrot crop to those whiskery rodents last year. A by-product of too many bird feeders. Two things I'm doing this year. It's a little late, but I'm installing a nest box for barred owls, and I'm going to install a solar powered electric wire 3 inches off the ground around the whole bed. Also going from 4 feeders to 1 plus a suet feeder - less spillage. Lovely looking gate. Alders are greening up around the edge. Didn't see any goose bumps, so things must be warming up. Good luck with the critters.
